Both the pool and the spa were completely above ground and needed to be back-formed. The precision of the concrete placement allowed for the seamless installation of the limestone ‘brick’ edging. To ensure everything stays in the right place, 68 surveyor points were established to position the pool and create both the pool and spa shapes.

BLUE HAVEN POOLS
This waterfront lap pool was built on a complex sloping block built in rock and on a water table. This pool had to be built with a support beam to hold the house slab for an extended alfresco area. It also acted as a retaining wall. The wet edge tank was part of the customer’s brief for a seamless integration of alfresco, pool and adjoining river. The tank and feature wall are stunning and well constructed as a lower level feature area.

BLUE HAVEN POOLS
The original pool was a freeform concrete painted pool with higher coping than the surrounds and no wet edge or spa. These elements were added as part of the renovation and the wet edge was designed to act as a seawall. The pool floor was knocked out to drop the level of a new shell to lower the new pool structure.

We call this project ‘the backyard wonderland’ because it has so many features that fit seamlessly into the design. This space really called for a multi-dimensional and multi-use zoned design.
