Townsville’s much-loved Tobruk Memorial Baths has stood proud for almost 70 years and opened its doors to greats Dawn Fraser and Laurie Lawrence. The historic pool has now received a much-needed facelift. Council invested $11.3 million to restore and reinvigorate the heritage features of the pool. The project included construction of a new 50 m pool and kiddies pool, along with improvements to disability access.

“Render X & Our Project” approached Palmy Pools to create this unique design to match their dream home. This pool is a seamless curved arched 5.0 x 7.0 m with three arched curved steps that complement existing arches and shapes throughout the home. The pool features rendered coping and a rendered diving board designed to deliver a unique wow factor. The pool and outdoor alfresco area are an entertainer’s dream. In delivering this innovative project we sought to create trends, not follow them.

This design features a large circular seating area with an umbrella for shade on those hot summer days. The main pool area is large enough for exercise and offers plenty of room for summer pool parties and entertaining. The large wading area keeps the young ones entertained as well.
