Wetrok Granuline – Climate-neutral cleaning with granules

With Granuline, Wetrok has achieved a breakthrough in ecological research: Cleaning with granulate instead of liquid cleaning agents. The innovative method is patented, internationally award-winning and climate-neutral.

How does it work?

1. Fill the foam bottle with water

2. Add individual sachet with granulate

3. Apply the foam generated to a microfibre cloth

The pre-dosed individual sachets completely take over the dosage process for the cleaning staff!

Which products exist?

Five granulate cleaners are available to cover the entire building: Wetrok Granufloor (floor maintenance cleaner), Wetrok Granusurf (surface cleaner), Wetrok Granusan (sanitary maintenance cleaner), Wetrok Granusan forte (basic sanitary cleaner), Wetrok Granubowl (WC cleaner)

What are the environmental advantages?

• 75% lower emissions during transport: transport of compact granulate instead of water (small sachets instead of large containers)

• No unnecessary impact on water systems: pre-dosed individual sachets make overdosage impossible

• 30% less chemicals, 90% less water: enormously reduced consumption of resources when used in combination with the foam cleaning method (compared to the bucket method)

• Biodegradable: according to independent testing laboratory, "highly biodegradable" (according to OECD 302b) and VOC-free

• Longer shelf life:

4 years guaranteed shelf life (average of 2 years for liquid detergents), no disposal of expired chemicals required

What does climate-neutral mean?

All granulate cleaners bear the “climate-neutral product” label from ClimatePartner. This means that carbon emissions were calculated, are being reduced gradually (e.g. through production, packaging) and are compensated for through support of internationally acclaimed climate protection projects.

Which climate protection project does Wetrok support?

Wetrok supports the Plastic Bank initiative to protect the oceans and prevent plastic waste. In Haiti, Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines, local residents collect plastic waste. At collection points, they can exchange the waste for money, food, drinking water and school fees. The project ensures that less plastic ends up in the ocean and thus protects the climate. In addition, compensation of CO2 is achieved through wind parks in the Philippines and the Caribbean as part of the combined climate project.

Environmental friendliness should be a matter of course, even for low-priced products. The wetco line is sustainable: the cleaners are certifi ed with the Nordic Ecolabel, confi rming that they are highly biodegradable. Why pollute the environment when you can conserve resources?

The 6 Steps to Hand Disinfection

The standard rubbing-in method: A sufficient quantity of hand disinfectant must be applied to cupped, dried hands and distributed on the skin down to the wrists by vigorous rubbing for at least 30 seconds according to the standard rubbing-in method outlined below in order to guarantee complete moistening of the hands. The movement for each step is carried out five times before you can proceed to the next step. Caution: Your hands must remain moist during the entire time you are rubbing in the disinfectant.

We recommend washing all textiles without fabric softener or bleaching agent at 60 °C and drying them gently at 55 °C. This will ensure a long service life for our products. Higher temperatures will reduce their service life massively. Fabric softeners and bleaching agents will damage the fine microfibres. We recommend washing and drying microfibres and cotton fabrics separately, as cotton fibres have a tendency to lodge in the microfibres. Cradle-to-Cradle: what does this mean?

The Cradle-to-Cradle Label® (C2C) follows a holistic approach for the assessment of products.

All Masslinn cloths (with the exception of Masslinn orange) are Cradle-to-Cradle certified. When awarding the label, ecological and social factors are reviewed:

• Are the ingredients safe for people and the environment?

• Is the product biodegradable or can it be recycled as part of the biological or technical cycle?

• How much energy is used in production and is renewable energy used?

• Does the manufacturer use raw materials responsibly in their production processes?

• Does the manufacturer adhere to social principles and allow these to be verified by third parties?

The label is award in five categories: basic, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Masslinn dust cloths are currently qualified for a bronze certification.

FIGR-tested: what does this mean?

The Research and Testing Institute for Facility Management (German abbreviation: FIGR) tests cleaning implements to determine their quality and effectiveness. In the tests, Masslinn dust cloths were certified for high effectiveness against dust and germs as well as excellent cleaning performance. The two most important test results from the laboratory and comparison tests:

• When cleaning personnel use Masslinn cloths for dust-binding mopping in combination with wet cleaning or disinfection, they achieve maximum germ reduction and optimum cleaning results (over 90 % dirt removal).

• Dust-binding mopping with Masslinn allows cleaning personnel to achieve significantly higher germ reduction than with wet mopping/scrub drying alone.

According to the official FIGR certificate, Masslinn dust cloths are "highly recommended" for dust-binding mopping (original quotation).

Wash cycle

The wash cycle for the relevant textile indicates how long the expected service life of the textile in question will be if the recommended wash cycles* are followed and the product is used in a normal manner.

Water absorption

Water absorption is an especially important criterion if you are using indirect wet mopping to ensure that you are leaving the floor with as little remaining water as possible.

Abrasiveness

The abrasiveness of a product indicates its ability to remove stubborn soiling. Microfibre textiles are always more abrasive due to their split surface structure, yet they do not cause any damage to flooring.

Dirt absorption

Dirt absorption indicates how much dirt can be absorbed by the textile. Microfibres have the property of tending to bind to fine dirt, while loops within the textile can trap rougher dirt particles.

Gliding properties

The gliding properties of the cleaning textile are a decisive factor for effective and ergonomic cleaning. The better the gliding performance, the more ergonomic wet mopping is for the user due to the lower level of resistance encountered.

Good to know – Microfibres

Yarn thickness can be a hundredth of that of a hair. Due to the close intermeshing of their yarns, microfibres retain their shape very well and also offer superior abrasion resistance as well as a very fine and soft structure. Their very large total surface area is what makes them such great performers in cleaning. They take in dirt particles and bind them into their fibres. The air pockets between the fibres and their capillary effect are responsible for the material’s excellent water absorption properties. This effect, however, also removes oil from oiled surfaces. For this reason, microfibres should not be used on oiled floors. Microfibres provide the best results when they are only moistened, rather than used completely wet. Fabric softeners, bleaching agents and washing or drying at excessively hot temperatures will damage fine fibres, affecting their properties and massively shortening their service life.

*We recommend washing all textiles without fabric softener or bleaching agent at 60 °C and drying them gently at 55 °C. This will ensure a long service life for our products. Higher temperatures will reduce their service life massively. We recommend washing and drying microfibres and cotton fabrics separately, as cotton fibres have a tendency to lodge in the microfibres.
