The 14th annual “We are Pink” fundraiser was hosted by the Assiniboia Composite High School Rockets girls basketball team on February 3. Proceeds from this year’s pink game will be donated to the Handy Van program in Assiniboia. The Handi Van is a important asset for many in the community to be able to transport residents where they need be. The basketball program, ACHS, and the community of Assiniboia supported the fundraiser, which included a live auction, penny pa-
rade raffle, halftime chariot races and of course the basketball game. The Assiniboia Rockets girls team faced up against the Moosomin Marquis during the basketball game. Assiniboia won the game 59-35. “We are Pink” T-shirts were also sold during the event, with 33 per cent of sales made beforehand so that fans and students could wear the T-shirts at the fundraiser. Basketball action for the Assiniboia High School Rockets girls and boys teams team continues.
The Penny Parade offered great selection during the “We are Pink” fundraiser. Students at the table included: Khaneisia Warken, Keanna Gee, Macy Duncan, Harper Berner, and Shaina Gee.
