Weyburn Comp hands out academic awards

Grade 10 Principal’s Scholastic Awards

The recipients of the Principal’s Scholastic Awards for last year’s Grade 10 students at the Weyburn Comprehensive School gathered with their certificates on Thursday evening for achieving an average of 90 per cent or above. The top academic achiever in this class was Lorynn Labbie, who had an average of 99 per cent. The winners are listed in the story below. The academic awards for last year’s junior and senior high grades at the Weyburn Comprehensive School were presented at the awards night and parents information night held on Thursday evening at the Cugnet Centre, with principal Wade Oberg, and vice-principals Ryan Fowler and Randy Lueck presenting. The evening was followed by a parents information session, where the parents could visit the students SAS classroom to ask any questions about their child’s performance in school. For the junior high grades, there were awards for student achievement, for achieving 70 per cent Ms on their report cards, with honourable student achievement for 75 per cent Ms, and awards of excellence were for students with 80 per cent or more Ms. For last year’s Grade 7 students, student achievement awards went to Honey Mae Bernal, A.J. Donald, Ben Manning, Ty Petersen, Nathan Spence and John Vogel. The honourable student achievement awards went to Hayley Gill, Adrienne van Staveren and Kylie VanDeSype.
