Haig choir sings of ‘waving a flag’ at Communithon

Grades 5 and 6 students from Haig School sing about “waving a flag” as they performed with drums, recorders and xylophones on stage at the Cugnet Centre as a part of the Communithon. the annual fundraiser for the Weyburn United Way. There were groups and choirs from every school in Weyburn who took part in the Communithon, with local performers in the evening, and the first-ever Concert Jam on Saturday afternoon, in support of the 13 member agencies of the United Way.

Members of the STARS Show Choir hold hands and move in time with the music as they perform for the 36th annual Communithon late on Friday evening, as the closing act of the day at the Cugnet Centre. Just before their set, a number of the girls danced in front of the stage as the band, The 7th Avenue, performed.
Leaping with grace

Weyburn dancer Emily Alexander leaped during her solo dance routine, as part of the entertainment at the 36th annual Communithon on Friday afternoon at the Cugnet Centre. She also did a dance with her older sister Autumn as they provided entertainment to help raise funds for the Weyburn United Way.
Communithon poem recited Weyburn writer and poet Jean Fahlman read her newest poem for Communithon during the opening ceremonies for the United Way fundraiser on Friday morning at the Cugnet Centre. The poem spoke of “An Everlasting Kindness” which is shown through the giving to the United Way by the community at large, in support of the 13 member agencies of the Review Photo 2366 — Greg Nikkel United Way.
Entertaining at the Concert Jam fundraiser

Weyburn singer Dane Von Hagen played a number of songs ranging from Johnny Cash to the Eagles during his set for the first-ever Communithon Concert Jam on Saturday at the Cugnet Centre.
