Fun at the Weyburn Fair Days

A pair of chuckwagons were side by side as they raced towards the finish line at the Weyburn Fair on July 3 in front of the grandstands. The Fair featured the chuckwagons and chariots in races over two nights, with a donation by the Young Fellows Club helping to ensure the excitement of the races was a part of the Fair.

Overall Grand Champion Female Garrett Liebreich of the Radville 4-H Beef Club showed Merit Flora 6078, a Black Angus, which was named the overall Grand Champion Female for the Photo 0154 — Trent Liebreich Weyburn Fair on Wednesday.

Mounted shooter has a smoking gun

A competitor in the mounted shooter contest left a cloud of smoke after shooting a balloon as he rode through the course at the Weyburn Fair on Thursday. The mounted shooters held their competition in front of the grandstand on Thursday and Friday, and the rodeo began on Friday and wrapped up on Saturday.

Garrett Liebreich of the Radville 4-H Beef Club showed Merit Socialite 7163, a Black Angus cow, the Reserve Champion Female for the Weyburn Fair on Wednesday Photo 0155 — Trent Liebreich at the Ag Society barn.

Rodeo Queen carries the Canadian flag Hanging on tight til the end of the ride

Danny Vandenameele of Langenburg, Sask., hung on tight until the eight-second whistle went for his ride in the bareback bronc riding event. He stayed on long enough to earn a score of 68 points, which unofficially was good enough for second place in this event during the Souris River Rodeo on Friday evening.

Megan Guest of Trossachs, the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association Queen for 2018, carried the Canadian flag as the national anthem was sung prior to the start of the Souris River Rodeo at the Weyburn Fair on Friday evening. Megan attends Yellow Grass School, and was crowned the SHSRA Queen at the competition held in June in Martensville.
