Wheat Fest dancers entertain at the Heritage Village

Two age groups of dancers performed a number together as the final dance of their show in the entertainment tent at the Weyburn Wheat Festival on Friday afternoon. The dancers are with De Tricky Feet Dance Studio, and had just come through a two-day dance workshop, and they performed the dances they learned for their parents and for those attending the Wheat Festival.

Rainbow face-paint for a princess

Bianca McEachern had a rainbow painted on her face by Regan Lanning, in the face-painting booth at the Heritage Village, held as part of the Weyburn Wheat Festival on Friday afternoon. The hot temperatures kept the visitors numbers down, but the various tours and demos went ahead in the village for those who braved the temperatures in the mid to high 30s.
Singer Lyndsay Bell sang her songs during her set in the entertainment tent at the Heritage Village on Saturday, held for the Weyburn Wheat Festival. There were a number of local entertainers who performed Review Photo 0924 — Greg Nikkel on stage over the weekend.
Visitors to the print shop at the Heritage Village Bev Culbertson, a tour guide at the print shop, explained how typesetting was done in the early 20th century, during Heritage Village Days held as part of the Weyburn Wheat Festival. The vintage press in the background was donated by Review Photo 0556 — Greg Nikkel the Weyburn Review as part of the print shop.
A ride back into history

The antique fire truck from the Heritage Village took visitors on a ride towards the Signal Hill Arts Centre and the water tower, two historic sites on the South Hill, as a part of the Weyburn Wheat Festival on Saturday. Visitors came out to take in the events and attractions at the village in spite of record-breaking heat of over 40 degrees. Signal Hill also hosted the “pARTy on the Hill” art show on Saturday on the grounds. At the Tommy Douglas Centre, the Crocus 80 summer youth theatre program did performances of six Robert Munsch stories on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
