Weyburn resident Mary Shirkie wanted to help ease the suffering of children who are going through cancer treatment, so she has been cycling to raise money for the Sick Kids Foundation, and was the top fundraiser in Saskatchewan for the charity — The Class of 2019 was urged to take their motto to heart, and to “do something great” as they go on with their lives after graduation, in the message from principal Ryan Fowler at the graduation ceremonies on Thursday at the Cugnet Centre — Brett Jones, centre for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL, came back to his hometown to hold a charitable golf tournament, and held a free football camp for local children.
