QE students dress as their future selves

Students from every grade at Queen Elizabeth School gather as they show what they imagine their futures selves will be, as part of a spirit day on Friday. Some students dressed in the career they would like to pursue, while others simply imagined what they might look like as older adults, and a number of staff also got into the dressup spirit of the day, showing what they would like to be doing at some future date.

Election set be held in Fillmore By Sheaunid Wiggins, 306-722-3642 Fillmore — Municipal eletion day will be a busy one in Fillmore, with elections in both the RM and the village. In the RM, Reeve Gerald Nixon was acclaimed, as was Les Katona, councillor in Division 1, and Russ Leguee for Division 3. In Division 5, Darren Urban is running against incumbent Roger Procyk. For the village, Marvin Chambers was acclaimed as the mayor, while former mayor Dean Hanson and incumbents Ava Dunham, Verla Hovind, Lorne Johnston and Jason Smith are competing for the four positions on council. Roxy Johnston and Sharon Clay had a visit from their cousin Douglas and Pam Goodwin of Comox, B.C., on Sept. 14. He is the son of the late Beryl (Hunter) Goodwin. Sharon entertained them and a few other family members for supper. A bridal shower was held at the Drop-in Centre on Sept. 22 for October bride Sheena Stewart. Seated with the bride were her sister and bridesmaid Krystal Vollbrecht of Creelman, and Bev Gordon of Griffin, the mother of the groom, Nevin Gordon. A special guest was the groom’s grandmother Betty Graham of Stoughton. Bridesmaid and friend Amber Keller acted as the emcee for the evening.

Reason: The reason for the repeal and additional public hearing is to satisfy the requirements set out in the Statements of Provincial/Interests Regulations foridentifying hazard lands and addressing their management. Public Inspection: Any person may Inspect the proposed bylaws at the RM office during normal office hours. These are the same bylaws that were adopted on March 16th, 2016. Copies of the bylaw are available at cost.

(3) I will declare the result of the voting at Creelman on Wednesday the 26th day of October, 2016, at the hour of 8:30 p.m.

Public Hearing: Council will hold a public hearing on October 12th at 10:00 in the morning. The public hearing will be held at the RM office. Any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed bylaw is welcome to attend or to submit comments prior to the meeting. Council will consider all comments received.
