Ten Minutes Will Make You Thousands

Taking the time to prepare for client meetings can help you increase sales

ime is money and money is time, right? That means the time you have is very valuable to you. So what are you doing with that time that could be making you the big money? That is the BIG question I have for you!

Ten minutes is not a lot of time, but the potential for making money in that 10 minutes is huge. Let me explain. I work with and train designers in the field every week, and I have come to this conclusion: We lose more money by not being prepared than we make by being prepared. Here’s why: People are particular. When they express their needs to you, it’s important to be prepared to show them what they want and educate them on that topic.

You can’t gain the business of a client by showing up unprepared, because this creates doubt and a lack of trust. However, being prepared to answer the tough questions and having the evidence to back it up builds belief and trust. Ten minutes is all we need to be prepared. So try this! Make it a point every day for a week to spend an extra 10 minutes being prepared for every client you will see that day. Bring plenty of hand samples and plenty of color samples with your product knowledge to every appointment. I guarantee you, after a week of testing you will come to the conclusion that 10 minutes will make you thousands. z
