how One Thames Quay is targeting buyers with a sustainable show home
by Jon Massey
Chalegrove Properties Limited (CPL) is no stranger to altering the Isle Of Dogs’ skyline. It’s the developer behind the three Landmark towers including Landmark Pinnacle – Europe’s tallest residential building, which stands at the head of West India South Dock.
A little further east, set back from the water alongside Marsh Wall, the company is in the process of finishing off One Thames Quay. Rising to 48 storeys, the structure houses some 263 apartments for private sale.
The tower also boasts residents’ facilities such as an indoor and outdoor garden, a children’s play area, a bowling alley, a gym on the 46th floor, a sky lounge, two roof terraces, a media room and a 24-hour concierge service.
CPL recently launched a fully furnished two-bedroom show apartment at the development with interior decor by BoxNine7 – part of a B-Corp certified design collective. The firm has come up with a sustainability-focused scheme for the flat, featuring traceable pieces, recyclable materials and locally-sourced items.
Prospective buyers, while getting a feel for the building and what it offers, can also view information and stories behind the more than 30 items and products used to furnish and decorate the apartment. These include handmade furniture and soft furnishings as well as non-toxic Bauwerk paint and room scents.
Also on show are custom paintings from ArtBox, a charity supporting artists with learning disabilities, curtains repurposed from retired fishing nets, velvet cushions produced from recycled plastic bottles and a coffee table upcycled from beer kegs.
In addition, BoxNine7’s design services are available to buyers at One Thames Quay including access to furniture packages such as the Conscious Collection featuring responsibly sourced products.
CPL CEO, Rami Atallah, said: “The BoxNine7 show apartment at One Thames Quay demonstrates the potential of sustainable design philosophy in new-build developments and underscores our dedication to crafting exquisite, eco-conscious living spaces.
“Now more than half sold, One Thames Quay delivers on

so much of what London buyers want today – a sustainable ethos, private members’ club-style amenities, private outside space and easy accessibility across the capital.
“It is no surprise the development has already proven itself to be one of the best performing schemes in the Canary Wharf area and presents a unique investment opportunity, promising robust growth prospects and enduring value.”
One, two and three-bedroom apartments are still available at the scheme, which is located a few minutes’ walk from South Quay DLR station.
While it’s also close to the transport links and amenities of Canary Wharf – offering rapid connections across the capital via the Jubilee line and Elizabeth Line, the immediate area is not without its attractions.
Yuhoki – one of the best sushi restaurants in east London is a few metres from its front door, as are the authentic Italian flavours served up at La Nina Caffe And Mercarto.
Also close by are al fresco market Canary Garden, cultural venue, Theatreship, and a growing selection of local restaurants from Capeesh to The Shell and Zia Lucia. There’s more in the pipeline too with nearby Consort Place set to reopen The North Pole pub, adding to The Gun for those who enjoy a pint near their home.
