he Unity Arts Festival is set to return to London City Island and Goodluck Hope from September 21-22. In 2018, the event attracted around 2,000 people with devlelopers Ecoworld and Ballymore hoping to build on that success. Highlights include workshops and guided tours from the recently arrived English National Ballet, screenings from the soonto-arrive London Film School, animation workshops from London City Island resident and professional animator Tim Allen, workshops and a new exhibition at Arebyte Gallery, introductory guitar sessions and performances with The Guitar Social and open house sessions at the London Parkour Academy at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Aimed at bringing the Leamouth Peninsula together and forming part of the Totally Thames festival, the event will also feature music, spoken word, dance workshops, pottery, photography, tours and Yoga, naturally. What does the current unrest and inertia have in store for property? Crash out of Europe with no deal – sterling falls dramatically against the euro and the dollar making UK property appear a sound investment to the foreign buyer. Hang on a minute, the last government did everything in its power to stop foreign investment. Why? I have no clue. A general election? This opens up the possibility of a Labour government led by Jeremy Corbyn and Until we move on the John McDonnell. n case anyone was wondering what had happened to the 10th storey sky pool, set to connect two of the buildings at Ecoworld and Ballymore’s joint project Embassy Gardens, the wait should be less than a year. The developers have released images and footage of the hotly anticipated acrylic structure being worked on at a factory in Colorado and have promised the facility will be in place and ready to open in the summer of 2020. Once craned into position, the pool will allow residents the novel experience of swimming between buildings in completely transparent, 25m-long, 5m-wide tank in water that’s 1.2m deep. Designed by Arup Associates, with help from Eckersley O’Callaghan and aquarium designer Reynolds, the pool will be located opposite the new American Embassy (inset) near Vauxhall station.
