Listen here: “I started doing music at the age of six. I have always been an energetic person, always looking forward to sport light and church was the first place where I got to show off my talent in a church choir. We took turns with leading songs and the reaction church members showed whenever I led a song made me adamant that music is my calling hence I started singing more even outside of church. In high school I started writing my own songs and it’ s been an amazing growth, I just write my own songs and I enjoy it” .
Your single LILIZELA – tell us about it, what inspired the song? “I wrote Lilizela last year (2020) February. I wrote the song because I felt the need to emphasize how beautiful love is. I wanted people to move from the perspective of love breaking hearts and look at the brighter side. And also for people to learn to congratulate those who are in love, and hopefully wait for their turn to be happy too. I’ m really happy with the response people are giving me, I really did not expect so much love and I appreciate it” .
Your WOW moment/highlight this far? “When the Elworld team started following me on Instagram, I realized that I’ m growing, there ’ s progress. It did not end there but more big names started following me (like Ambitiouz Entertainment, Ami Faku, De Mogul SA to name a few. I am also very excited to see Lilizela paving its way on the charts, I’ m really proud of myself” .
Tell us about your recent collaborations and what they mean to you? “I have been featured on De Mogul SA’ s latest single titled Vula Amasango. That body of work is something I’ m proud of and really happy I became part of. It also reminded me of how much I enjoy writing. I also collaborated with artists like Musiholiq, MBzet, MaxOv and many more. These collaborations helped me grow as it’ s different genres ” .
Who would you be happy to feature/collaborate with in future? "It has to be Ami Faku or Amanda Black, she smiled" .
Lastly, tell us about your upcoming album? "The title of my upcoming album is Amagama. I’ m planning to release midyear. There are about 16 songs with features from the likes of Musiholiq, NaXion Cross, Beast" .
