“I started this company because I saw that one thing people are struggling with is unemployment, so I saw that gap and decided to be the middle man. I introduced tutoring also under the company because I love to share my knowledge with people. A lot of students struggle with Maths and I’ m very good at it so I decided to be a personal tutor. Recently I expanded by hiring people to assist me as it gets overwhelming, and I have to also juggle work, “ my 9-5” . The other reason I decided to hire people was due to the fact that I get academic assistance requests from Science students and I majored in Accounting so I definitely needed assistance in Science.

RRS is a recruitment agency based in Johannesburg which is existing to prepare job seekers for the world of work. Their vision is to be one of the best recruitment and training agencies in South Africa. Not only do they strive to be the best, but also to make sure that they deliver the best service. “We are focusing on achieving more growth and decrease the unemployment rate across the country ” .

The challenges students face currently as schools are not operating like they were operating prior the pandemic needs not only teachers to deliver but parents and companies like RRS to intervene, hence one of RRS services is tutoring, an opportunity where graduates can sign up to assist in tutoring the struggling students mainly in Maths and Science, but not excluding other subjects where other tutors are experts on.

Currently RRS is approaching and leading conversations with employers who have opportunities to offer so they can be listed on their platform as they have a large database of candidates who are in need of employment, and these conversations may take time but it will eventually happen as the company has great potential to fight the unemployment rate which is the biggest challenge in our country. RRS is encouraging tutors to register on their platform, and inviting students who are struggling academically to reach out to them for assistance.

FinacialFinacialFinacial YearYearYear Reflections.Reflections.Reflections. By Afrika Kesho

A reflection of the 2021 financial year shows that the pandemic has changed our lives, we have no other choice but to adapt to the new normal. Part of this new normal is making new normal financial decisions. Many people lost their businesses and jobs, this is a great awakening that the world is changing and if we stay stagnant, our chances of survival are slim. The pandemic has brought about an increase in the price of our daily commodities, with the petrol price and food prices increasing, even the pockets of the most financially stable persons feel the pinch, this is because some of the previous financial management solutions are not as effective in a pandemic economy. Are savings still an option given the current financial circumstances? The answer to that is - yes, but in different ways. For example, where you would join a physical stokvel which requires monthly meetings and the physical exchange and recording of savings, now you can operate online via whatsapp groups and use bank accounts such as those that allow you as the stokvel members to turn your savings into investments that give you greater returns at the end of the financial year.

For personal savings, there are options such as the goal saves account by Tymebank which increases interest varying on the number of days you leave your money in the account, the longer you leave the money, the greater the interest rate. Options such as these allow people to save from the little that they have, and this little money generates more while you go about your daily routine. Another option that people often look down on is avoiding shopping and spending the normal way. For example, reconsider buying groceries at the usual supermarkets because buying from wholesalers as well as factory shops saves a lot of money. You as the customer get to buy products at the stock price, which is much less than retail price. One thing that is definitely hitting everyone ’ s pockets is petrol prices, we need to look at more eco-friendly and pocket friendly ways to get to work and school. Parking your car and using public transport or car-pooling may be a good way to save on petrol and car maintenance costs. Your car insurance premiums may even reduce because you ’ll be driving your car less, reducing insurable risk.

We ’ re in a pandemic economy, till date there is no effective vaccine against inflation and poverty but we can always protect the depth of our pockets by taking the necessary financial precautions.

Nelson Mandela Bay

The YMCA Nelson Mandela Bay team has been swamped the past few weeks delivering pairs of shoes to various schools in the metro. Amongst them was Moshe Ndiki who is a professional actor and presenter in the national media industry, but in this shoe campaign Moshe has been playing an ambassador role as he has done the relevant work prior this campaign.

The team shared a background about how and why the shoe campaign commenced and the impact it has to the school kids lives thus

far.

“The school shoe campaign has been a humbling experience that we never anticipated. It started as an idea that Lerato shared with an acquaintance but it' s clear God was listening. The aim was to help children in the underprivileged schools to have a decent pair of shoes during the start of the school year but it went beyond that, as we saw the impact it had in the eyes of the beneficiaries ” .

Parent' s appreciation was overwhelming as they could not afford to get the shoes for their children due to unemployment. In the beginning, the first two days of distributing the shoes was very emotional for the team. Seeing what poverty does to families. Seeing children going to school with torn shoes and the attachment they had on the shoes even when given a brand new pair. To some it was difficult to let go of the old, torn shoes with holes because they have a sentimental value to them.

They have an attachment as they travelled long journeys with that pair until it was worn out. In the two weeks, we donated 1400 pairs of school shoes to 21 schools in the Bay. We look forward to continuing with the campaign again in June and help those in need. Children deserves the right to basic essentials. We have to work hard to protect them especially in vulnerable communities. Oliver Tambo said: "The children of any nation are its future. A country, a movement, a person that does not value its youth and children does not deserve its future " . It takes a village to raise a child.

N E W T H E NISSANNISSANNISSAN NAVARANAVARANAVARA

Pro4X REVIEWED BY: CurtreviewsCurtreviewsCurtreviews

With a rear like that. It is imperative that you note it is not designed like any other modern bakkie. It does screen old school American pickups but this is genuinely Japanese and a formidable force to reckon with as the three knights that have prowled the South African tarmac now have a force to take over terrains.

Red badge to put that distinction that this is not a standard model.

Bold and riding on another one of Japanese gem, the Yokohama Geolander all terrain gives the Navara a definite grip and comfortable ride. For our South African terrain the Navara had no problem settling in nor scaling our planes. This model here is the highlight of the family and bares the marks of the Pro4X.

SRS airbags and seats, a leather all rounder in the Pro4X and the red stitching does make it all stick out as does the white. Anchor points to secure that baby seat firmly and a wide heater fitted rear windshield for utmost clear rear view even in the cold window fogging season extreme we experience in SA.

Very well stirred blend of digital and analogue inside of the Navara, you get your traditional analogue dials and a digital display in the middle, a multifunctional steering wheel to aid the driver and make the ride rather glorious as it were to begin with.

Eight piercing lights staring at you as if though they were in a cage if that daytime solid beam. The red accents make it standout and give a sense of distinction. Plane black honeycomb grill to create that vanta black feel.
