elcome to the Cairngorms National Park and the August edition of the What’s On, the free events guide. To help you make the most of your time here we’ve put together an essential guide packed with what’s happening in the area. We’ve got some great ideas for things to do, places to see, where to eat and drink, and places to stay. August is an exciting time of year in the Cairngorms with a huge array of events happening across the Park! The start of the month sees the return of the Ballater Victoria Week (3-12) with lots of fun for all the family. Blair Atholl hosts their annual Horse Trials (23-26) with 4 days of competitions, stalls and a country fair. That same weekend thousands of Harley Davidsons descend on the valley for Thunder in the Glens, a sight not to be missed! Finally don’t forget to check out one of the many Highland Games taking place across the Park, read our Insider’s Guide for more info. The Cairngorms National Park has something for everyone.
