What’s On W in january/february

elcome to the Cairngorms National Park and your January/February edition of What’s On, the free events guide. The Christmas rush is over, 2020 is well under way and there is no better place to embrace healthy living than the Cairngorms. If you want group motivation in your quest, there are a raft of free events you can join, such as the rambler’s walks, health walks and Cycle Friendly Kingussie’s weekly bike rides. For more inspiration on getting healthy in the Park, see our feature on page 12. If you’re not doing dry January, however, then Caorunn Gin’s free talk and tasting on 9th January at Grantown Museum is not to be missed! Neither are the numerous celebrations of our National Bard, Robert Burns, happening around his birthday on 25th January (check out our full listings on page 5 for details). Another standout event, which always draws international media attention, is the annual Siberian Husky Club Sled Dog Rally, happening this year on 25th-26th January. All this in addition to the usual packed calendar of (mostly free!) live music, art events and talks happening throughout the valley - so there’s absolutely no reason for suffering New Year blues here! In the Cairngorms National Park there is something for everyone.
