Muñoz & MacKenzie officially opened their practice in December 2022 to advise local individuals and families on Estates and Trusts to provide them with the expertise they need to make the right decisions about their future.

Rachel Muñoz and Jared MacKenzie both attended and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law. Muñoz began her professional career working in crisis intervention counseling, while MacKenzie worked at a real estate firm drafting wills and trusts after law school. Additionally, Muñoz currently serves as a State Delegate for District 31 in Anne Arundel County. The firm’s new office is located in Severna Park’s historic Telephone Building at 7 Riggs Avenue. Skinlogic Opens in Severna Park

Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and Carl Snowden, Convener of the Caucus of African American Leaders (CAAL), hosted the annual Few of the Many awards ceremony in mid-February. This year’s honorees included 14 Anne Arundel County community leaders who exemplify the theme of “Black Resilience.”

“We recognize that we can do more to empower and promote diversity in leadership in both the public and private sectors,”

County Executive Pittman said. “We host this event every year to shine a light on leaders and emerging leaders to encourage them to continue their good work.”

Among the list of honorees were Anne Arundel County’s first African American Sheriff and Register of Wills, Sheriff Everett Sesker (pictured with Pittman), who received a Congressman Elijah Cummings Award, and the Honorable Erica Griswold who received a Sojourner Truth Award. Other awardees included: Nelson Brown, Sheylia Brown, Phyllis Currie Spencer, Arlene Jackson, Roslyn D. Johnson-Jones, Priscilla Monroe, Reverend Rickey Nelson Jones, C.
