MWR facilities are here for recreational use by active duty, midshipmen, retired military, active reservists, current and retired Department of Defense civilian employees (Civil Service and non-appropriated), active duty Coast Guard, family members in all of these categories, and USNA DoD contractors. Athletic (Sports) and Fitness Programs

The MWR Fitness Center features a full-court gymnasium; free weight, cardio and circuit strength training rooms; day lockers and showers; a racquetball court and a functional fitness room. Active duty, midshipmen, reservists, retired military, current and retired DoD civilian employees and all dependent family members can use the facility at no charge. USNA DoD contract employees may purchase an annual or monthly membership fee or pay a daily guest fee. Eligible patrons may bring a guest for a daily fee. MWR Sports offers intramural leagues for all active duty, retirees, DoD civilians, family members 18 years and older and USNA contractors in softball, basketball, volleyball and flag football. Fitness programs such as 5K runs, fitness orientations and assessments, personal training and group fitness/exercise classes are available to active and retired military, DoD civilians, family members, and Annapolis Area Complex contractors. Fitness assessments and personal training are available by appointment with the MWR Fitness staff or contracted personal trainers.

Auto Skills Shop and Car Wash

The Auto Skills Shop is a fully equipped, self-service repair facility located across from the MWR Carr Creek Marina. The shop offers eight bays (four with hydraulic lifts), that can be rented by the hour on a first come, first served basis, battery charger, tire mounter, electric drill, engine stands, tire balancer, puller set, storage and professional guidance. Check your vehicle with the “All Data” computer car manual program which contains information on recalls, service bulletins, and make/model updates. There is also a used oil and antifreeze drop-off respository during open hours. A Car Wash is open 24/7 and is located adjacent to the NEX Service Station. Credit cards are accepted.

Carr Creek Marina

Located at the end of Naval Support Activity Annapolis at the mouth of the Severn River 410-293-3731 and 410-293-2058

The Carr Creek Marina offers a wide variety of recreational boating options at affordable prices. Dry storage facilities can accommodate boats, RVs and pop-up campers (no automobiles). Priority is given to those residing in base housing at USNA/NSA Annapolis. Hauling, washing, launching and dry-stand storage facilities are available for privately owned boats by appointment. The sailing fleet rentals include 22-24' sailboats, including four Hunter 22-foot sloops and a 25-foot Catalina sailboat. Rental powerboats include 15- and 17-foot Whalers. Canoes and 1- and 2-person kayaks are also for rent. Boat rentals are available from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Basic keelboat sailing lessons for beginners are given every weekend by reservation, May through the beginning of September. Carr Creek Marina also rents 32 slips with water and electric hookups on an annual contract basis at the Commander John L. Dunning, Jr., USNR, (Ret.) Memorial Pier on Mill Creek Pier off Greenbury Point. Applications are filed on a status group priority basis.

Child and Youth Programs

The Child Development Centers, accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, are open to active duty, active reservists, active duty Coast Guard, DoD civilian employees, and USNA DoD contractors. They offer full-time child care and developmentally appropriate programs for children six weeks to five years of age with the curriculum based on the philosophy that "children learn through play." The centers provides hot and cold Maryland State Department of Education approved breakfasts and lunches, as well as afternoon snacks. When needed, Child and Youth Programs offer the Child Development Home Program for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old and trains, certifies and monitors DoD-affiliated providers on and off base. In addition, Child and Youth Programs offer the services of the CYP School Liaison Officer (located at the Fleet and Family Support Center, 410-293-2641). Hourly care and after-hours care are also available, and must be reserved in advance.

Billy the Kid Youth Center

The “Billy the Kid” Youth Center, affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, 4-H and accredited by the National Council on Accreditation, is located in a newly constructed facility and provides a wide range of recreational, social and educational activities for children from five years old (and in kindergarten) to 18. Programs include School-Age Care (before and after school for children kindergarten through age 12), leisure skills developmental classes, special themed events, monthly birthday parties during the school year, and field trips to area attractions. There is also a summer camp for children entering first grade through 12 years old. There is also a teen summer camp. The center also offers a place for children, ages 11 to 18, to use computers with Internet capability, Cable TV and video games. Homework help is also available. T-ball, baseball and soccer leagues, basketball clinics and special interest activities are offered to promote, skills, fun and sportsmanship.

Discount tickets to movie and dinner theaters, Broadway theater performances, special events, sporting events, theme parks, ski resorts and White House ornaments are available or can be ordered through the ITT Outlet at the Blue Jacket Comm. Center Building #46. Special events and trips to local, out-ofstate and international cities are planned throughout the year. Full-service travel agency offers vacation packages, cruises and hotel accommodations which can also be planned and booked through the ITT Office.

Liberty Zone

The Liberty Zone offers single and unaccompanied active duty enlisted members E1-E6 a place to kick back and relax.The Liberty Center has high definition flat panel televisions, gaming stations, ping-pong and pool tables, phone charging stations, computers with video conference capabilities and free printing. There is also free Wi-Fi in the building where you can watch many of the latest titles. We offer trips, special events, tournaments and a variety of programs for sailors.

Aquatics Program (Outdoor Pools)

Two outdoor swimming pools, South Severn Pool (across from USNA Gate 8) and North Severn Pool (on NSA Annapolis) are open during summer months. Swim lessons are available in two two-week sessions. Low-cost family and single membership passes are available at the Fitness Center Bldg. #89 for frequent swimmers. Daily fees and guest fees are available at the pools. Annapolis Campground

Naval Support Activity Annapolis Reservations, 1-877-628-9233

Naval Support Activity Annapolis offers a secluded area for RVs and tent camping. This recreational area has 14 RV/trailer campsites with electric and water hookups, a central dump station, central bathhouse with hot showers and a primitive tent campsite area with picnic and pavilion areas. Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rentals

MWR rents a 5-foot charcoal and gas grills, two and four-man tents, camp cots, air mats, camp chairs, ice chests, propane lanterns, flashlight lanterns, two-burner stoves, tables, chairs and 10' x 10' canopies on a daily basis, for the weekend or weekly to help you experience the great outdoors. Request forms are available to check out tables, chairs, grills and canopies at no charge if you are having an official function. MWR rents mountain bikes, bike helmets and sports equipment such as softball kits, badminton and croquet sets, footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs and horseshoes. Three inflatables are also available for rent.

Party Room Rentals & Picnic Pavilions

Blue Jacket Community Center Bldg. #46 Naval Support Activity Annapolis Bay Room at Greenbury Point and Retelle Room Reservations, 410-293-9200

The Retelle Room, which accommodates approximately 80 people, is only available April to November because the facility is not heated in winter. Retelle has kitchen facilities and restrooms. It also has a brick BBQ with grill, a covered patio and is adjacent to a softball field. The Bay Room, located at Greenbury Point, offers similar features as the Retelle Room plus a pool table and a view of the Chesapeake Bay and accommodates 80 people. It is available year-round with heat and/or air conditioning. Balloon Bouquets can be ordered with 12" balloons for your event. Choose from an assortment of colors. 48 hours advance notice is required for orders. MWR also rents outdoor pavilions at Naval Support Activity Annapolis. North Severn Pavilions A & B are located across the street from North Severn Pool and softball field. Retelle Pavilion is located on the Severn River at Retelle Beach, past the RV campground and Mill Creek Pavilion is located near the CDR John L. Dunning Jr. Memorial Pier at Mill Creek. North Pool Pavilions A & B accommodate 96 people and have charcoal grills. Retelle Beach and Mill Creek Pavilion accommodate 48 people. Rental fees are required at the time of reservation. Reservations for party rooms and picnic pavilions can be made 90 days in advance.
