TERP HAVE & TERP HOLD

Mutual friends introduced Maggie and Jake to one another in 2014, while both were students at the University of Maryland. They bonded over nights out at their favorite college bar, RJ Bentley’s, and at football tailgates. “We were lucky to have so much in common, between growing up as Maryland kids and learning that each other’s families spent the summers in Rehoboth Beach,” Maggie says.

Alex encouraged Maggie and Jake to name their guest tables after their favorite places. She commissioned an artist to make sketches of each place for the escort wall, which said, “This Must be the Place,” as a nod to one of their favorite bands, The Talking Heads.

THE CHARMING INN

The Jarboes wanted to find a venue that would allow them to celebrate all weekend long. They considered options in Rehoboth, but quickly realized that transportation there would be a hurdle. “Our incredible planner, Alex, took our vision for a weekend of coastal fun and suggested the Tidewater,” Maggie explains. The couple fell in love with the inn as soon as they laid eyes on it. “The town of Easton looks like a movie set; it has amazing stores and restaurants and the most charming homes and streets,” Maggie says. “Melanie, the Tidewater Inn’s coordinator, and her entire team are the kindest people and made our weekend so easy.”

A DASH OF GRANDMA CHIC

Maggie went for a classic, grandmillenial aesthetic with soft pastels, lots of greenery, and a black-andwhite checkered dance floor. “I had so much fun working with Alex on all of the small details—bow napkin rings, a watercolor crest, and a beautiful map of our favorite places in the DMV, [which we] put in the guests’ welcome bags with their weekend itineraries,” she says.

Maggie and Jake didn’t want a “typical wedding band” and instead hired the Benderz, a Dewey cover band. “They made the night!” Maggie says. “They learned our dance songs, and then kept the party going with their incredible energy.”

PRETTY POURS

Alex Nesterak also brought Jake’s dreams to life with a draft beer bar, courtesy of White Glove Rentals, which was situated in the garden during the reception. “It was an awesome spot for people to hang out, [enjoy] a beer, and smoke a cigar,” Maggie says. Jake coordinated with a favorite brewery, Dewey Beer Company, to provide the beverages.

THE GRAND PREVIEW

Maggie and her mom started working on the design for her wedding a year in advance. “We met Alex at the Tidewater Inn and got to hear all of her amazingly creative ideas while we walked through the space,” Maggie says. A few weeks later, Alex presented the couple with a design plan and organized a sample day for them to see everything in person. “It was so cool to get a preview of the tablescape and florals!” Maggie says.

MOST VALUABLE VENDOR

Maggie and Jake also looked to their planner for help finding vendors. “It was such a relief,” Maggie says. “We knew that she trusted each one from working with them previously, which helped us to feel super comfortable.” Maggie says her photographer, Kimberly Denn, was especially standout. “There aren’t words to describe how much we adore our photos and how perfectly she captured the day. Kimmie and her husband Andrew were so fun to be around, and their energy is unmatched. Kimmie even surprised us with a beautiful, framed portrait delivered to our house soon after the wedding!”
