Experiential learning built in

At Wheaton, learning beyond the classroom is an integral part of every student’s experience. In your second year, you will begin infusing your education with real-world experience and professional connections, through an experiential course, internship, service or research project, study abroad, or other experiential opportunity.

Semester in the city

Wheaton students have the opportunity to participate in a 15-week semester in Boston, Massachusetts at the College for Social Innovation and undertake an internship with a leading social change organization.

Ninety-six percent of Wheaton students live on campus and housing is guaranteed and students directly shape campus life through the Student Government Association and more than 100 campus clubs and organizations.

Nursing applicants

Nursing admission is competitive. Applicants who wish to apply as a Nursing major are strongly encouraged to do so by the November 15 Early Action or Early Decision deadlines. Nursing applications received after that date will be considered on a space available basis. Students applying for direct-entry nursing will be considered for general admission to Wheaton should they not qualify for nursing admission.

Affordability

Wheaton is committed to making our transformative liberal arts education affordable through generous merit scholarships and needbased financial aid. On average, new students in fall 2023 received more than $45,000 in Wheaton grant and scholarship, with many receiving additional funding from federal and state sources.

All admitted students will be considered for merit scholarships automatically—no separate application is required. To be considered for need-based financial aid awards, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

On average, Wheaton met 94% of students’ demonstrated financial need, leading to less debt than the national average.

From 2022–23, after financial aid, nearly half of new students paid less than $20K (including housing and meal plan). The average cost for all new students was $28,939.

For 2023–24, tuition and student fees are $62,080 (housing and meal plan: $15,430).
