2014 GHS Data Board Share In our effort to continuously reflect on and improve our teaching and learning, the GHS Staff meets to share student learning goals and achievement during our June Faculty share. During this share, teachers focus on learning which action steps yield the most student learning gains. Our goal is to continue to improve our students' learning and consistently improve our teaching.


Mrs. Mayhew, GHS speech pathologist, developed a goal to increase articulation performance. 83% of her students increased their articulation by 60% or more. The remainder of students improved an average of 30%.


The grade 3 team met their goal to improve students’ reading performance by increasing the percentage of students reading at goal from 36% (October) to 78% (May) as evidenced on their Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA).


Grade six students improved their reading performance by increasing the amount of students reading at goal from 75% (October) to 85% (May).


89% of our grade 1 &2 remedial reading students made one year (or more) growth as evidenced by their spring DRA. 22/36 students made more than a year’s growth. 10/36 students made a year’s growth.


Grade 5 increased the percentage of students reading at goal from 56% (Oct.) to 84% (May) as evidenced by their end of year DRA.


Grade 4 students improved their reading performance from 50% (Oct.) to 73% (May) as evidenced by their DRA.


Grades 5 & 6 students receiving individualized instruction improved their reading performance as evidenced by one year’s growth (88%) or 2 reading levels (22%) according to their May DRA.


Grade 1 students increased their reading performance from 53% at goal (Oct.) to 75% at goal in May according to our district benchmark.


Grade 3 music students improved their music literacy by learning to read notes. Progress was monitored using rubrics that assessed note/letter/name/recognition. Students applied their learning when they played their recorders.


Grade 3 students improved their figure drawing skills by learning about proportion and increasing accuracy. Progress was monitored using teacher created rubrics. Students increased their percent at goal from 37% in the fall to 83% in the spring.


Students receiving remedial reading support in grades 3-6 made a year (or more) growth as evidenced by their May DRA. 73% of students made one year’s growth. 27% of students made more than one year’s growth.


45% of students receiving specialized reading instruction improved their reading by one year’s growth according to our district benchmark. 55% of students increased 2 reading levels.


55% of grade 1 & 2 students receiving individualized instruction improved their reading skills by one year as evidenced by our end of year benchmark assessment.


Grade 2 students improved the percent of students reading at goal from 45% (Oct.) to 67% (May) as evidenced by their DRA.
