Calendars are mailed to campers at the end of April. These monthly schedules list all field trip locations and dates, swim days, theme days and more. Campers must be registered by 7 pm, the Wednesday prior to the session start date to avoid the $25 late fee. Late registration is accepted until 8:30 am, Monday of the session start date with a $25 late fee per child.
CAMP REFUND POLICY
To withdraw from a session of camp and receive a refund, a request must be submitted by the Thursday prior to the start of the withdrawn session. A $25 per camper service charge is applied to all refund requests.

TINY TOTS Location: CRC Is your tot almost ready for camp? Start your camper on the right road with a great transition to summer camp! Campers explore, create, discover, and make new friends through themes, art projects, songs, and games! Adult must remain in the room with child while at camp. One adult per child. *Must be one by June 1, 2019.
Li l’ Campers Location: CRC Through fun and educational themes like nature, music, animals and more, preschool-age campers learn, explore, discover, create and make friends! Visits to the Splash Pad at the Family Aquatic Center are also part of the fun. Two-, four- and five-day options available. Lil’ Campers visit the Splash Pad on Wednesday and Thursday. Designed and supervised by early childhood education teachers, Lil’ Campers is the perfect way to prepare for the school year! *Must be three by June 1, 2019. No camp 7/4.

A new style of dance is introduced each week through a short dance routine: Week 1-Ballet, Week 2-Hip Hop, Week 3-Poms, Week 4-Tap, Week 5-Interpretive/Lyrical. Campers should wear leotard, footless tights, and ballet shoes. For Week 4, those who do not have Tap shoes, can wear any hard-soled shoe; sneakers or gym shoes that don’t make noise are fine, too. *Must be six by June 1, 2019. No camp 7/2, 7/4.

Looking for a new and challenging way to spend your summer? Explore the big city and find hidden gems around town. Visit museums, ballparks, arcades, and more! Field trips are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with some volunteer opportunities. On Tuesday and Thursday, campers spend the day at the Family Aquatic Center. *Must be entering these grades in Fall 2019. No camp 7/4.
counselor in training Location: CRC This program is a unique leadership opportunity designed to teach motivated young adults to work with campers. You’ll assist counselors in supervising campers, preparing supplies, leading games, and most of all, learning leadership skills. CIT is perfect for those who aspire to become a camp counselor. CIT’s will be assigned to camps with younger kids based on CIT’s interests and camp enrollment. *Must be entering these grades in Fall 2019. No camp 7/4.

Caring, responsible staff conduct activities and ensure each camper’s safety in a controlled setting until parents arrive for pick up. Light snacks are provided each morning and afternoon. Activities include organized group games, arts and crafts, sports, and other exciting camp activities! Campers who attend camp are eligible to register for this unique program that allows children to attend an early morning or late afternoon camp, depending on their needs. *Must be entering these grades in Fall 2019. No camp 7/4.

The Wheeling Park District is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in a safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard. The Wheeling Park District continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants and parents/guardians of minors registering for this program/activity must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities/programs. You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child/ward are physically fit and/or adequately skilled for the activities contemplated by this agreement. It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or has recently suffered an illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before undertaking any physical activity.
WARNING OF RISK
Recreational activities are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental and emotional resources of each participant. Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any recreational activity. All hazards and dangers cannot be foreseen Depending on the particular activity, certain risks, dangers and injuries may exist due to inclement weather, slips and falls, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, premises defects, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction or officiating, and other risks inherent to the particular activity. In this regard, it is impossible for the Wheeling Park District to guarantee absolute safety.
WAIVER AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in this program/activity, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with this program/activity (including transportation services and vehicle operations, when provided). I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this program/activity, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. SWIM LESSONS Location: Indoor Pool
DAY
Learn all-important, lifelong swim skills by adding swim lessons to your child’s camp. Available to Adventure, Art, Sports, and Tue/Thu Flex Camps. Campers are placed in levels based on swim ability and are escorted to indoor pool for lessons. Wear a swimsuit on lesson days. Should a field trip conflict with a swim lesson, a refund is issued for any missed lesson. Swim lesson sessions are two weeks long. Campers must be enrolled in both weeks of camp in order to sign up for swim lessons. No swim lesson 7/4.
