WALK ON ICE
EDITOR’S PICK
During the height of glaciation, the Canadian Rockies were almost completely covered in ice. The mountains we see today were shaped as the ice receded, leaving sharp jagged peaks and U-shaped valleys. Learn about glaciers and their importance in shaping the land with an ACMG-certified guide at Athabasca Glacier Icewalks (p 78) or Rockaboo Mountain Adventures (p 78). Stay at the foot of the Athabasca Glacier at Pursuit’s Glacier View Lodge.
