Weltevrede Guest Farm is situated in the heart of the Namib Desert, 300 kilometres South west of Windhoek, on the C19 Road between Solitaire & Sesriem and bordered on three sides by the Namib Naukluft Park. The Swarts family welcomes our guests to a warm, friendly, family operated Guest Farm. Our guest numbers are limited to ensure a very personalised service. With the name “Weltevrede” meaning “very satisfied” we aim to ensure that your experience, being at one with nature in an eco-friendly environment, is one of contentment.
Our Family, Staff and Community. All our staff members, with their respective families have been living on the farm for several years. The staff and their families receive continued experiential and skills development training ( like cooking, tourism, decorating, clothes making, knitting, human relations, etc.) and support in the education of their children. We are actively involved in supporting the communities police, health and conservations services.

Conservation and Sustainability • Energy saving : Various solar energy supply options are implemented. • Water saving : Grey water recycling to water plants. • Going Green : We have a compost heap and recycle as much as possible and plant some of our own vegetables and herbs. • Wildlife conservation is being practiced by the current owners since 1994. Numerous man-made waterholes have been established, some requiring daily manual filling. • Nature conservation staff is assisted with maintenance of bore holes & water is supplied in emergencies. • Assistance : We support numerous conservation programs , such as Vultures Namibia.
Wildlife and Bird Watching. Weltevrede is the proud home to more than a thousand Springbuck and other species are Giraffe, Hartmann (mountain) Zebra , Leopard, Ground Squirrels, Kudu, Gemsbok(Oryx), Blue Wildebeest, Steenbok, Red Hartebeest, Warthog, Foxes, Hyenas and Ostriches. Regular Cheetah sightings are reported. Weltevrede farm is home to at least 60 known bird-species. Exclusively one can witness the behaviour of the Namaqua Sandgrouse in the mornings, from the porch outside the rooms. The vast and open landcapes in contrast to the Namib dunes and Naukluft Mountain range presents an excellent photographic canvas.
Attractions and Activities Weltevrede is ideally located in the Naukluft Mountain Range, — close to Sesriem, Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon. Here you can visit the highest dunes in the world in the oldest desert in the world.
