“
a freshman experience:
After about a month of doing daily grammar practices in my honors English class, I had a kid who finally said, ‘I know how to do this; I get it.’ It is so different from what they do at Rugby; nobody does that stuff in middle school. I was so glad that they thought, ‘Yes, it’s not about the grade; it’s about learning.’ So I do kind of have an ‘a-ha’ moment when my students finally understand it.
