JOIN OUR TEAM! Important Things To Remember TAX EXEMPTION PRESENTATION
MONDAY, MAY 9, 12:30 - 2:30 PM Come learn about Senior & Disabled Property Tax Exemption.
The Oak Harbor Senior Center is forming a team for the upcoming Meals on Wheels Walk-A-Thon and we need you! What: 1-mile FUN Walk When: Saturday, May 21, 10 AM Where: Greenbank Farm 765 Wonn Road, Greenbank, WA
The Walk-A-Thon is recreational, non-competitive and entirely off-road. This is a great opportunity to explore the beautiful scenery at Greenbank Farm while supporting a very important cause.
The Meals on Wheels program provides meals to isolated home-bound seniors in our community delivered by friendly caring volunteers. Last year volunteers donated over 11,000 hours to the Meals on Wheels program and drove over 26,000 miles to deliver 33, 040 meals to our home-bound friends and neighbors, who depend on Meals on Wheels.
In a recent survey, 96% of the participants who receive Meals on Wheels said the program helps them to remain at home for as long as they can, 92% feel less isolated because of the friendly volunteers, and 94% feel that their nutrition intake is better. It may be the only meal many participants eat for the day and often times it is their only social contact as well.
LET’S TALK
MONDAY, MAY 16 • 10 AM
This year the Meals on Wheels Walk-A-Thon is inviting teams to participate and the Oak Harbor Senior Center will definitely be joining in on the fun. We need you though! Let’s show our community how much we appreciate any and all services which support seniors. We’re all in this together!
Join Mary Anderson, Oak Harbor Senior Center Director for coffee and conversation!
All walkers will receive a 2016 Meal on Wheels Walk-A-Thon T-shirt and a bag full of goodies and healthy tips. SPECIAL PRIZES will be awarded to the team with the most donations and most creative team costume!

Just bring comfortable shoes to start with and later clogging taps will be available for purchase. Mondays - $25/month YOGA Introducing Maria McGee! Maria became a certified yoga teacher 11yrs ago. Putting heart into quality service With the sudden loss of our Mother three years ago, and then our Father two years later, we were so grateful for the caring support and professional guidance we received from Paul and Heidi Kuzina and Edie Silvey at Whidbey Memorial. We had so many difficult decisions to make and thankfully, Paul and Heidi and their staff were there to help us through every step, making sure nothing was missed. In the end, we were able to honor our parents and celebrate their lives in a way that they would have loved. On behalf of our entire family, Thank you Whidbey Memorial, Dave and Jane Fikse
