It’s a classic brand and fragrance known the world over and represented by some of the most celebrated models and actors of our time, among them Marilyn Monroe and Catherine Deneuve.
Now, Chanel No5 can boast two native Pittsburgh Pop Artists associated with this iconic brand: Andy Warhol and Burton Morris. Their work appeared side-by-side in Paris recently at the Grand Palais Ephemere.
The sold-out exhibition was a one-month celebration of the iconic Chanel No5 bottle.
Morris had three original Chanel No5 bottle paintings hanging alongside six original Andy Warhol Chanel No5 paintings on display.
Morris, who is best known for his bold and colorful artworks for the Academy Awards, The Olympics, and the hit TV show “Friends”, traveled with his wife Sara to Paris for the December 2022 exhibit.
He said he was especially pleased to see the placement of his work with Warhol’s, who served as a major influence on Morris’ career.
The two legendary Pop Artists both grew up in Pittsburgh, both attended Carnegie Mellon University, and their artworks reflect todays pop culture.

What are you eating?
Since turning 50, have spent the last year and a half working on my health. It’s like you’re on the back 9 of a golf course –everything you do from this point forward hits you harder and takes a lot more time to recuperate. With that, I have started to implement a higher protein diet, all while still including carbs to maintain muscle.
Much like the rest of the world, I look to TikTok for unique recipes. As media professionals, we have seen the trend over the last couple of years that consumers are using social media as their search engine of choice.
On the days where don’t feel like cooking, I subscribe to Factor pre-made meals that make it easy to pop in the microwave after a long day of work. The key to eating healthy is to prep those meals ahead of time, so when you start to feel an energy crash, you can grab something healthy and not make bad choices.
Of course, on the weekends, when I’m not as strict, my go-to meals are steak, pizza, and burgers with an occasional red wine.
What are you listening to?
I love all genres of music, but if had to pick just one, I would choose country. Pop is my go-to for listening to music when running or exercising.
In the car, when I have to drive long distances for work, listen to business books on Audible because driving can be seen as a waste of time, so I’m maximizing that time to my benefit. get one book done per month and I’m always looking for ideas of what to listen to next. Currently, I’m listening to The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz. I also like to listen to True Crime podcasts, which Aimee Brown, my VP, Media Strategy got me hooked on.
What do you do to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
It’s taken me a couple years to actually pull off and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Just like in life, you will continue to fail and then you just have to get on that horse again. This year has been my best year so far in really trying to figure out how food affects my body and my energy. Ask me in three months where I am then, because it takes time and it’s a long term, forever commitment.
I strength train with a trainer twice per week and try to do cardio 2-4 times per week. My husband and like to jog in North Park and then go grocery shopping on Sundays. Sleep is an important part of work excellence. definitely work hard, play soft, and get my sleep in each night. We were virtual before virtual was cool. By giving you and your employees those extra hours in the morning to not have to rush off to anywhere really is a blessing to their mental and physical health.
Now that I am over 50, it’s a lot easier to not sweat the small stuff. just don’t take things as hard as I did in my 30s and 40s. have found some really great leaders to take a lot of the burden off of my shoulders in managing our team. spend 100% of my time working on the business, while my team works in the business.
