Jazz in the Cultural District
The BNY Mellon Presents JazzLive series has enabled the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust to showcase hundreds of regional performers in the heart of the Cultural District since 2004. JazzLive is a year-round free live jazz series, which takes place in Agnes R. Katz Plaza during warm-weather months, traditionally inside of the Backstage Bar at the Greer Cabaret Theater during winter months, but currently inside of Liberty Magic during renovations to the Greer Cabaret Theater.
Free and open to the public, this popular Pittsburgh Cultural Trust music series showcases some of the region’s finest jazz musicians every Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. Bob Studebaker has been the resident MC since the series inception. The most recent Spring Series announcement covers shows slated between March 7-May 30, 2023. Seating is limited—first come, first served.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust transformed a red-light district Downtown into a global destination. Founded in 1984, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust revitalized a 14-block arts and entertainment/residential neighborhood called the Cultural District; one of the country’s largest land masses “curated” by a single nonprofit arts organization. Thanks to the support of foundations, corporations, government agencies and thousands of private citizens, the Trust maintains a Charity Navigator Four-Star Rating and stands as a national model of urban redevelopment through the arts.
