TOGETHER CREATING ENJOYMENT, LIFE & VITALITY

Here at the Beck Veterinary practice our nurses offer a range of consultations that you might not even realise are available! Weight clinics

• This is a free service we offer to help you get your pet back to a healthy weight. • A few little tweaks to your daily routine can be all it takes to help manage your pet’s weight. • We weigh your pet and measure their neck and tummy to help visually see results next time you come in. • We can work with the food you already feed or recommend which food for you to use. Our nurses will be able to offer useful tips for exercising and healthier treat alternatives (did you know dogs often love carrots?). • Our team are very understanding of different situations and aware it’s not always easy to change your routines. • After your first initial consultation we usually ask you to return within 4-6 weeks for your next weigh-in. • Our first 10 new slimmers will be offered a half price bag of Hills Metabolic food which is a highly recommended food to help kick start your pets weight loss!

Nail Trims

• Our nurses are on hand daily to trim your pet’s nails no matter what the species! • Call up and book in for a day which suits you.

Flea and Wormer checks

• Most of these medications need an up-to-date weight to ensure your pet receives the right cover for parasites. • Several over-the-counter medications are not very effective and in many cases no use at all – it is always recommended you get your flea and worming treatment from your veterinary practice. • Our nurses are happy to administer or apply the medication also if needed – we know they can be a little tricky!

Dental Check

• A visual check of your pet’s teeth – we can offer advice and demonstrations on tooth brushing along with other products you might find useful.

BECK VETS OFFER A FULL RANGE OF CLINICS FOR YOUR PET

Introduction to the practice clinics

• Come into the clinic with your pet before their first injection or other essential appointment, we will give them lots of fuss and attention without any medications or injections involved. • This will hopefully set in your pet’s mind that coming to the vets is not a scary experience. • You can take this opportunity to chat with the nurse about any questions or concerns you may have while you pet is left to relax and feel at ease in this new environment.

Patient confidence and cooperation clinics

• These clinics are to help a nervous patient build confidence with the practice, staff and to train through the common problems we see e.g. nervous for injections, nail trims, ear examinations. • We understand how upsetting this can be for you as an owner too and want to help. • This clinic is recommended in a 6-week block – one half an hour session per week with the same member of staff. Progress will be much quicker if you can dedicate time to the training at home too, short sessions several times a week which we will guide you on.

For any help or advice with your pet please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01947 820333, we are available 24/7 for any pet emergencies.
