A Warm Welcome
Welcome to the August edition of the Whitby Advertiser, your go-to advertising magazine that has been supporting local businesses since 2006. As we move into the high season in Whitby, there's plenty to look forward to. One of the highlights of the summer season is the Whitby Regatta, which takes place from August 12th to 14th. This traditional event has been a fixture of the town's calendar for over 180 years and attracts visitors from all over the country. From the thrilling rowing races to the spectacular fireworks display, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Another event that's sure to be popular is the Whitby Folk Week, which runs from August 19th to 25th. This celebration of traditional music, dance, and storytelling brings together performers and enthusiasts from all over the world. With concerts, workshops, and ceilidhs taking place throughout the week, it's the perfect opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of the area.
Of course, there's plenty to see and do in Whitby even outside of these major events. Whether you're exploring the historic abbey ruins after conquering the 199 steps, taking a stroll along beach or picturesque harbourside, exploring the quirky gift shops along the cobbled streets of the old town, or sampling the delicious seafood at one of the town's many restaurants, there's always something new to discover.
