CENTERVILLE — City Hall was packed March 11 with residents who wanted to share their thoughts at a public hearing when Mayor Jeff Paar announced that he would resign as of March 25. Paar was elected mayor in November 2016 after serving for 14 years on the City Council.

The council was prepared to take public comment and possibly act on a $350,000 purchase agreement with Trident Development LLC, which plans to build a 53-unit apartment building downtown. The project is also pending approval of $1.35 million in tax increment fi nancing (TIF).

Paar explained to fellow council members and the public that personal reasons, not this specific project, led to his resignation.

“You are going to have to bear with me because this is going to be emotional for me … my private life is my private life. I have been very upfront and honest with staff, council, our attorney (and) the League of Minnesota Cities,” he said.

“I am not living in Centerville, and there are all sorts of rumors going around ... none of it is true. My wife and I are separated, and we are in the middle of a divorce,” he said.

What spring thaw exposes, Turdy Jobs disposes

The glorious spring season will soon be here. For many people, that means more sunshine, warmer temperatures and budding flowers. For dog owners, however, springtime is a season to dread: white rugs are ruined, dogs need countless baths and backyards are desperately in need of a cleanup.

That's where Turdy Jobs, a pet waste removal service, comes in handy.

“People think I'm nuts, but it is not as bad as people think, it really isn't,” said Turdy Jobs founder Lindsay Johnson, a Lino Lakes resident. Johnson has owned the business for five years. After her kids got a bit older, Johnson knew she wanted to pursue a career in the pet industry and was leaning toward a pet-sitting business. After some different life events and an incident where her dog was attacked, she realized that pet sitting was not for her.

One day she was listening to the radio and heard someone call in to ask what people's favorite service was. “Somebody said, ‘pet waste removal’ and I thought, ‘I can do that!’” she said. “It doesn't bother me.”

The full-time operation keeps her and four employees busy year-round. The busiest time of year is right now, when dog owners turn to her company to look after the yards they have neglected over the winter months. As temperatures keep rising and the snow melts away, Johnson encourages people to wait it out — just a bit longer.

“Everybody's anxious to get it cleaned up, but honestly, just wait a little bit. It makes a huge difference,” she said.

Turdy Jobs serves clients all over the metro and typically visits clients once a week, but the business also offers an every-other-week option as well as a one-time spring cleaning option. Turdy Jobs also does commercial

LINO LAKES CITY COUNCIL NOTES The Lino Lakes City Council took the following action at its March 9 meeting: • Heard from resident Sierra Rasmussen, who requested that the council change the city code. “I'm asking that bees be declassified as farm animals and that you change city code to permit small-scale commercial beekeeping,” she said.

• Accepted bids and awarded a construction contract for the Well House No. 1 rehabilitation project.

City Engineer Diane Hankee explained that Well House No. 1, the city’s fi rst well house, was constructed in 1970. Specifically, the project will include a new pitched roof, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fi re protection, a seepage pit and two additional chemical rooms. The project will upgrade the facility to meet current environmental and safety standards.

Municipal Builders Inc. was the low bidder at $669,900. The project will be funded through the water operating fund and has a completion date of Dec. 31.

Lyden said he was having a tough time with the “enormous” cost for things like windows, doors, painting, masonry etc. Utilities Supervisor Justin Williams said all of the windows and door are industrial and are built to contain should a pipe ever burst. He said the windows will help the building blend into the surrounding residential neighborhood.

Rafferty said, “The neighborhood has put up with this eyesore for quite some time. It is a tough price to pay, but at the end of the day it is going to be rewarding for that neighborhood and for what we get out of it.”

• Approved a conditional use permit (CUP) for 7020 West Shadow Lake Drive. The applicant, Leslie Schuhbauer, is proposing to build a single-family home. A CUP is required for building within the floodplain using alternative elevation methods. The applicant proposes to build a crawl space with flood vents underneath the fi rst level of the home.

used in the crawl space would have to be water resistant.

Cavegn wanted to know if there was any concern of animals or children getting in the flood vents.

City staff said the vents are small.

They are only open when activated, and cannot be pushed open.

Councilmen Dale Stoesz and Michael Ruhland said they would prefer to see the more common flood alternative: fi ll. City staff explained that because of the amount of fi ll that would be required, the home would end up being quite a bit taller than the nearby homes and may create runoff issues for the lake or neighboring properties.

• Accepted bids and awarded a construction contract for East Cedar Street and Elmcrest Avenue North/24th Avenue improvements.

The project includes paving Elmcrest Avenue from Tart Lake Road to the south for a distance of 2,300 feet, and East Cedar Street from Otter Lake Road to the east a distance of 2,600 feet.

Six bids were received; the low bid was submitted by North Valley Inc. for $700,637. Lino Lake’s share of the construction costs is $494,351 and the city of Hugo’s share is $206,286.

Lino Lake’s total project cost, including soft cost and contingency, is $624,000. Funding for the project is proposed through the arterial street reconstruction fund (special assessments for Cedar Street that have already been collected from abutting developments) in the amount of $247,500. State aid will

fund the remaining $376,500 of project costs. The completion date for the project is November 2020.

Rafferty, Lyden and Stoesz voiced their concerns with the construction management costs and wanted that to be further refi ned before they agreed to pay WSB $58,502 for construction services.

• Accepted quotes and awarded a construction contract for sanitary sewer to Water Tower No. 3. The work includes extending sanitary sewer from Fire Station No. 2 to the Water Tower No. 3 site. Construction of the project is to occur along with the Water Tower No. 3 improvement project. Four bids were received; the low bid was submitted by C.W. Houle Inc. for $77,760. The project will be funded through the city's trunk utility fund and the completion date is Sept. 4.

• Authorized WSB to perform a water treatment plant facility study for $34,538. The study will evaluate alternate water supply options, analyze source water, review a potential plant site, prepare preliminary drawings, evaluate future system needs and phasing, study neighborhood impacts and determine estimated costs. The study should be complete by June 1.

The next City Council meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 23. A work session is scheduled immediately beforehand at 6 p.m.

Circle Pines preparing for COVID 19 CIRCLE PINES — Since the City Council’s March 10 meeting agenda was brief, council members took some time to chat about a topic that seems to be on everyone's mind — the coronavirus (COVID 19).

Councilman Dean Goldberg, a retired health care professional, said he has been trying to keep up with the latest information about COVID 19.

“I have been following COVID 19 since the first articles came out in the New England Journal of Medicine ... I have a background in infectious disease, so this is really interesting to me,” he said. “It has turned into a big deal.”

Goldberg and City Administrator Patrick Antonen shared that they would attend a League of Minnesota Cities meeting March 12 to learn more about what cities need to be doing to prepare. Antonen explained that the city is currently in the process of updating its Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, which was last updated in 2009 for H1N1.

“This is an issue, and it is here in Anoka County. It is only a matter of time. We need to make sure we are prepared. It could potentially interrupt city services.

It could get to the point where we need to shut City Hall down and not have the doors open,” Antonen said. “We are considering all these options of what we can do to make sure our staff is protected and that we can execute the essential operations of the city.”

Goldberg explained that one of the reasons COVID 19 is so alarming is because of the mortality rate.

However, he said it is important to note that there are a lot of unknowns that are not factored into that percentage. “The reason that the mortality rate is high is because we are measuring the number of people who die, divided by the people who have confirmed coronavirus,” he said. “When you look at (influenza), they are able to much better track that denominator number. With coronavirus, people are walking around asymptomatic and they may pass it on to somebody, but we don't know who they are.”

In the meantime, Goldberg has some advice. “It is a wait-and-see thing. If you feel sick, don't walk into the doctor's office. Sequester yourself, call in and find out

what the doctor wants you to do. They will test you if you have the symptoms and if you don't have the symptoms, they will give you advice,” he said. “Wash your hands and clean your house thoroughly.”

Mayor Dave Bartholomay said, “We don't want people to panic, they just need to be careful and thoughtful. There is that old saying, ‘prepare for the worst and hope for the best.’ That is what we have to do. We have to be prepared for these things.”

In other action, the council held the first reading, waived the second reading and ordered a short-form publication of an ordinance amending City Code Chapter 12, Section 1210.04 to repeal sections of the Minnesota State Building Code.

The city is currently in the process of finishing construction on a cold storage building for its public works facility. Back in 2004, the city adopted an optional section of the building code, which would require this building to be sprinkled.

“For what we are using this building for, storage of water and gas meters and utility department supplies, I think it is potentially a gigantic waste of taxpayer funds to sprinkle a building that is only going to be used for cold storage,” Antonen said.

Antonen added that the cost of the building was approximately $80,000. He said sprinkling it would likely cost another $40,000 to $60,000.

By repealing the optional part of the building code, the city will revert to the state building code, which requires that buildings of this type that exceed 12,000 square feet be sprinkled.

Goldberg said, “As council members, we owe it to the citizens of Circle Pines to be cognizant of their safety from a fire perspective. This structure is all metal with nothing in it that can burn, so I am not worried about the safety issue. I also think we have an obligation to the city to spend tax dollars wisely and for that reason, and the fact that there seems to be no safety risk, it seems prudent to do this.”

Runbeck, Chamberlain receive Republican endorsement

State Rep. Linda Runbeck (R-Circle Pines) received the endorsement from delegates attending the District 38 convention Saturday, March 7 at Centennial Middle School. Runbeck earned 75% of the votes against her opponent Doug Malsom, of Circle Pines.

Sen. Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) was unanimously endorsed by both sides of the Senate District, 38A and 38B. He had no challenger.

Runbeck, the incumbent state representative, has represented Centerville, Circle Pines, Lexington, Lino Lakes and portions of Blaine and Hugo since 2012. Prior to this, she served portions of this area plus Shoreview, North Oaks, Arden Hills and Vadnais Heights in the Minnesota Senate from 1993-2000.

As a member of the House, Runbeck currently is GOP Lead, Legislative Process Reform Committee, and also serves on Higher Education Policy and Finance, Transportation Policy and Finance and Property Taxes Division. She has also been a leading voice on reform of the Metropolitan Council and opposition to light rail transit.

Pandemonium

or most of us, these days mark the first time in our lives to live amid a pandemic that is the COVID-19 virus. As I write this, travel restrictions have been imposed on Europe, numerous large-scale events have been canceled, colleges are sending kids home and moving to online classes, and locally we are seeing our organizations, schools and businesses talk of indefinite closings. It’s nearly impossible to find face masks, hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, certain medications, and in many stores, paper and paper towels. By the Publisher’s toilet time this paper reaches our readers in a few days, I suspect there will be View additional measures.

A few weeks ago we traveled Carter Johnson to Florida to celebrate my dad’s bi thd It was just before coronavirus cases in the birthday.

Once home, the grocery stores, pharmacies and large box retailers were already sold out of many virus-fighting necessities. It is hard to imagine this is real. I visited the local drug store to find just four bottles of mini hand sanitizer left on the shelf. Purchasing one, I was off to the next spot in search of cleaning wipes and disinfectant spray for the office. The shelves were literally bare. I quickly sobered up to the problem this virus is posing, and wanted to consider what we have in inventory at the office and home.

What it comes down to is we all need to be smart, we need to take precautions and follow the recommendations of the CDC. According to the CDC, that means we need to consistently wash our hands and clean hard surfaces with a disinfectant.

We need to stay home if we are sick, or have been around anyone who is or has been sick. Cover your coughs and sneezes. We should limit activities where we are in large groups, which may be increasingly dictated by the government anyway.

If you been around someone who’s been traveling internationally, you should quarantine yourself for 14 days. Don’t take a chance and be considerate of others. We need to limit exposure to our senior citizens and nursing homes. If you don’t need to go somewhere, don’t. Our local business community needs to work with employees who have been exposed or might be sick to stay home, or work from home for an extended period. The large corporations are keeping people at home. It is up to us to care for our families, neighbors and community during this pandemic. Spending our money locally will help insure our local shops will still be here when the pandemic is over.

Champion Zephyrs It may go down as the most exciting game in Mahtomedi history - to be ahead by a goal at the end of the last period, then tied in the last 20 seconds, to go into overtime and score for the win. The team and coaches worked their tails off to put together a series of games they needed to win. The Zephyrs were not favored to win, and it was the sheer determination of these young men who have worked hard and played hard, and the leadership that created an environment to challenge them to do things maybe they never thought they could. Congratulations!

speech and the freedom of press, is not intended to protect the media per se. Rather, the founders built a hedge of protection around the media because the media guards and fights for the public’s right to know.

According to a Brookings Institution report, more than 2,000 newspapers across the country ceased publication in the last 15 years or so. The shuttering of newspapers presents a very real and present danger to our most basic freedoms. That’s why communities should support their local newspapers, through subscriptions and advertising, now more than ever before.

Journalists keep an eye on government, shine the light on its actions, fight the good fight for access to documents and meetings, champion transparency and defend the First Amendment because of a core belief in your basic, fundamental rights — principally, your right to know.

OBITUARY

Michael ‘Big Mike’ Alan Kingbird Michael “Big Mike” Alan Kingbird, 64, of Bemidji, Minnesota died Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Sanford Fargo Medical Center.

Christian Funeral Services were held Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji. Visitation was Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemdiji. Interment following cremation will be at the St. Antipas Episcopal Cemetery in Redby, Minnesota.

He was born on February 13, 1956 in Red Lake, Minnesota the son of McKinley and Marlys (Burt) Kingbird. At the age of 5, his family moved to Circle Pines, where he was raised and educated. He was a member of the National Honor Society at Centennial High School, where he graduated in 1974. He was a tremendously gifted athlete in high school and college. Excelling in football, wrestling and baseball. He was an MVP in football, and ranked as the number one high school baseball pitcher in the Twin Cities.

He made the dean’s list attending Bethel Bible College and Seminary studying business management, and Bemidji State University studying physical education and coaching, receiving bachelor’s degrees from both schools in 1994. He retired as a teacher from the Northwest Juvenile Center in July 2020. He loved to play cards, especially poker. He enjoyed movies and was always on the go traveling. He loved to treat his family and friends with trips and gifts. He loved to spend a lot of time with his granddaughter Kaydance.

He is survived by his: children, Stacy Williams, Travis Wabange. Grandchildren, Kaydance, Spirit, Selena and Shenoa. Great-Niece, Reagan Huggins.

Brothers, Mack (Christy) Kingbird, Kevin Kingbird, Keveon Kingbird.

He was preceded in death by his son Darcy Green Kingbird, father McKinley Kingbird, mother Marlys Kingbird, sister Karen Kingbird and brother Scott Kingbird.

I am completely dismayed to read about Anoka County considering trail options on habitat that Eagles, Deer, Great Egrets, Blue Herons and other wildlife use. I often hike on trails by Golden Lake Elementary and am in awe anytime I see any such wildlife. I fervently hope and pray any option other than A gets taken off the table.

Funding available for pollinator habitat

The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) is now accepting applications for the Lawns to Legumes program for fall 2020 projects. This program aims to increase residential habitat for at-risk pollinators across the state by providing residents with workshops, free planting guides and opportunities to apply for reimbursement for gardening projects. The application period will remain open through June 2.

Anyone who lives in Minnesota and has an area for outdoor planting can apply to be reimbursed for up to $350 in costs associated with establishing new pollinator habitat in their yards.

Awardees provide a 25% match. This match can be in the form of purchasing materials, hiring contractors, or as in-kind time spent planting or maintaining plants. The initial application period for spring 2020 projects yielded more than 5,000 applications.

People wondering whether they should be tested for the novel coronavirus can now use a free online assessment at virtuwell.com.

It will guide users to appropriate next steps for diagnosis and treatment.

The assessment evaluates a user’s symptoms, travel history and potential exposure to infected patients, as well as other demographic data, to determine whether a COVID-19 test is warranted. These factors are aligned with the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Minnesota Department of Health.

If users meet the criteria for COVID-19 testing, they will be connected with a nurse practitioner via phone. The nurse practitioner

will conduct a more comprehensive assessment of the patient’s health and help determine the best next steps for their situation.

If users do not meet criteria for COVID-19 testing, but have symptoms that they’d like addressed by a nurse practitioner, they can proceed with a Virtuwell visit, which will cost $49 or less, depending on their insurance plan.

This allows the patient to recover at home without spreading infection or exposing themselves to other circulating viruses.

As the outbreak unfolds, the assessment tool and approach to care can and will be modified in accordance with the latest guidelines from national and local health agencies.

Athletes among first take hit from coronavirus

The worldwide outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) might eventually wreak such havoc in the U.S. that the fi rst blow — having to go without sports for a while — might eventually be seen as just a minor footnote.

Still, young athletes are at the forefront of the initial groups of Americans having to sacrifice something vital in the nationwide effort to stem the spread of the deadly new disease for which we have, as of yet, no cure.

On the heels of the NBA and NHL suspending their seasons, and the NCAA canceling national tournaments, the Minnesota girls basketball tournament last weekend was called to a halt halfway through, sending the

semifi nalists in Class 4A (Hopkins and Farmington) and Class 3A (De La Salle and Becker) home without getting to play the game they’ve worked for all their lives, along with the four semifi nalists in Class 2A and 1A. The boys basketball tournament slated for this weekend is axed Friday morning as well. About half the of 32 state qualifiers had been determined by last Thursday evening and the other half were to be crowned Friday night.

Basketball was the only Minnesota winter sport affected. All the others had their state tournaments completed.

Jamie Sobolik, Centennial girls basketball coach who was an assistant on Cougar teams that went to state, commented: “I feel sad for all those players and coaches that worked so hard to get

to where they were and never had a chance to try and achieve that goal and dream they set back in November,” he said “On the other hand, what the world is dealing with is so much more important. If the cancellations can prevent more illnesses and deaths, then we are making the right decision.”

During the Grand Forks flood of 1997, he was assistant coach for the University of North Dakota softball team. The UND president forbade them from leaving for a tournament in Vermillion, South Dakota that weekend. The entire city had to evacuate and the rest of our season was canceled. But he said he can look back on that year with pride and joy despite the bitter disappointment at the time.

“I’d like to think that those impacted (by coronavirus) will be able to look back at their season and

smile rather than dwell on what could have been,” he said.

Spring sports are also affected.

On Sunday morning, Gov. Tim Walz announced that the state’s K-12 schools will temporarily close this week and stay closed at least through March 27 to give educators time to prepare for an extended period of “distance learning” if necessary.

The Minnesota State High School League (MSHL) decreed Sunday that no practices of any kind take place until March 27. Most spring sports would have started practice this week. The MSHSL previously ruled that no scrimmages or games take place until April 6.

With the COVID-19 crisis rapidly evolving, the MSHSL will continue to work with the governor and the Department of Health and new directives might be forthcoming.

Tyler Shilson, former Centennial athlete, has completed two season of Division I college wrestling. Shilson had a 16-10 record as a freshman at Wisconsin 2017-18. He did not compete in 2018-19. This winter, at Tennessee-Chatanooga, Shilson had a 12-14 record at 157 pounds, including 3-8 in dual meets. Paar said it would be different if he knew that the personal matter would be resolved soon. “I didn’t think this process would take this long,� he said.

Paar explained that even though the

purchase agreement with Trident Development LLC was going to be tabled, he and the council still wanted to hear from residents and have a frank conversation to clear the air. “I am okay if people disagree with me or the council, but when stuff out there is just flat-out not true, I think that needs to be put to bed,�

Paar said.

City Administrator Mark Statz said he anticipates the council will appoint a new mayor at the end of the March 25 meeting, when council members officially accept Paar’s resignation. “The new mayor will serve through the end of the mayor’s term, which is up at the end of 2020.

Whomever assumes the role of mayor then vacates their seat on

the City Council,� Statz explained. The council will need to decide how to fi ll the council vacancy.

• Approved an application for City Heat Charities’ annual motorcycle benefit ride, which helps raise funds for families in need. City Heat Charities is expecting around 140 participants for this year’s event. • Approved a compliance agreement with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) that establishes a formal, enforceable agreement between the city and the MDH regarding the correction of water quality violations. The agreement

requires actions such as taking water samples from the well, determining if a feasibility study needs to be done and monitoring entry points supplied by the well.

• Postponed a discussion on an ordinance about planned unit developments (PUDs) until the council’s next workshop meeting March 19. The proposed ordinance would put increased responsibility on developers to provide more information when applying for PUDs. The ordinance would also lay out a procedure, which the city currently doesn’t have in its code, to give staff more time and structure to review a PUD application. The new ordinance would make it possible to exert greater scrutiny for developments in the future. • Received an update from Anoka County regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). The county has posted general information on its website (anokacounty.us/coronavirus) with links to the most up-to-date information for the evolving situation.

The website contains information on personal and family preparedness as well as links to travel alerts and advisories from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The city’s partnership with UsAgain helped recirculate good clothes and shoes as a sustainable alternative to the wasteful practice of tossing out perfectly good clothing. UsAgain will host the seventh annual Spring Greening Challenge, a monthlong contest, starting in May. Even though the job can be quite messy, Johnson said she enjoys spending time outside and setting her own schedule. She also likes getting to meet the furry friends she is cleaning up after. “I get to see so many breeds and get a good feel for what is out there,” she said.

The job also allows her to spend some time with her teenagers. “It gives them something to do, and is a way for them to make some money. Some of their friends even come with to help too,” she said.

Lino Lakes resident Julie Harrington has been utilizing Turdy Jobs' services for three years since she found the company online. She uses their weekly dog cleanup service to clean up after her three dogs.

“Neither my hubby or I are great about picking up doggy doo on

a consistent basis, plus I travel quite a bit for work, so it just makes life easier,” she said.

Harrington's dogs love the service, too. Her golden lab, Remington, waits by the back door on Thursdays. When the poo-picker-upper arrives, he runs to his doggy door to go play some fetch.

“Whoever is picking up that day, they always play ball with him and give him treats and love.

It is really fun to watch.

They are always smiling and laughing with him,” she said. “At the end of each month, they leave a little bag of treats. I love the company and how they interact with my babies. They do a great job and have great customer service.”

POLICE REPORTS The Lino Lakes Police Department reported the following incidents: • Officers were dispatched to the report of a large dog or coyote in the 200 block of Woodridge Lane March 3. The officers searched the area but were unable to locate the animal.

• Officers assisted another agency to set up a perimeter for a robbery of a convenience store in the 3400 block of Restwood Road NE March 3.

• A bus driver reported a school bus stop arm violation in the 800 block of Main Street March 4.

The incident is currently under investigation.

• A resident from the area of 74th Street and Jeanne Drive requested extra patrol March 4 for speeding vehicles that do not stop at the stop sign.

• Officers responded to a check the welfare call in the 200 block of Plum Lane March 4. An intoxicated female was transported to her residence in Blaine.

• Police assisted another agency with a traffic stop in the 4200 block of Victor Path in Hugo. Four males were detained in relation to a theft.

• Officers responded to a car vs. dog traffic accident in the 900 block of Birch Street March 6. The owner of the deceased dog was notified and responded to the scene.

• Police responded to a disorderly conduct report at the YMCA March 6. The suspect received a citation for disorderly conduct.

• An officer stopped a vehicle for a lane violation in the 7500 block of Lake Drive March 7. The officer detected the odor of a controlled substance and conducted field sobriety tests. The driver was subsequently arrested on multiple charges.

• Officers responded to the 6700 block of Partridge Place March 9 on a report of a dog bite. A dog bit a male neighbor. Officers impounded the dog and the dog owner was cited. The victim declined medical treatment.

The Centennial Lakes Police Department reported the following incidents: • Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Keith Road and Pine Hollow Drive in Circle Pines March 4. While speaking with the driver, officers detected the smell of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of a green leafy substance and paraphernalia. The driver was released from the scene and given a verbal warning.

• Officers attempted a traffic stop in the area of North Road and Lexington Avenue NE in Circle Pines March 4. The driver was known to have a warrant. A pursuit ensued and was ultimately terminated.

• Police were dispatched to a report of a burglary in the 1600 block of Hunters Trail in Centerville March 4. Information was collected.

• Officers responded to a theft report in the 60 block of East Golden Lake Road in Circle Pines March 6. A caller reported that an unknown suspect removed and stole her two garbage and recycling cans from the end of her driveway. The estimated loss is $300.

• Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Twinkle Terrace in Circle Pines March 7 on a theft from motor vehicle report.

• Police took a phone call report of a theft that occurred at Festival Foods in Lexington March 8.

• Officers were dispatched to the 7200 block of LaValle Drive in Centerville March 9 on a trailer theft. Information was collected.

• While on routine patrol, an officer noticed damage to city property in the 6900 block of Lamotte Drive in Centerville March 9. The public works department was notified.

• Officers responded to the 100 block of Baldwin Drive in Circle Pines March 10 regarding a theft from motor vehicle report. The case is pending investigation.
