SHOREVIEW — The grand opening for the 7,000-square-foot expansion to the Community Center’s waterpark will be Dec. 15. The new section geared to toddlers through 10-year-olds in the Tropics Indoor Waterpark will be opened at noon after a short ribbon-cutting by Mayor Sandy Martin and City Council members, reported Alisha Seifert, city communications coordinator. Cookies and drawings for family passes and party rentals will be held. “It’s going to be a wonderful holiday gathering place for kids in our community,” said Mayor Sandy Martin. “I can’t wait to show it off.” The new section, called Bamboo Bay, includes a play structure and 18-inch pool with a zero-depth entry for young swimmers.
