Barbara and Heather Mundis are owners of a new doggie day care in White Bear Lake. They brought a foster pup named Dobby to work last week as they got the facility ready for opening day. She is an 8-month mixed breed up for adoption.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office was on the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners’ March 26 workshop agenda to present plans for all patrol deputies to wear body cameras by June. The Sheriff’s Office patrols communities in northern Ramsey County, including Shoreview, Vadnais Heights and White Bear Township. Sheriff Bob Fletcher, elected in November, said he would up the
timeline for implementation of body cameras for patrol deputies, correction officers and court services as part of his campaign. Previously, it was expected they would be implemented in 2020. “It’s clear that cameras help build trust with the community because they show transparency and openness to the way that law enforcement goes about its business,” Fletcher said before the meeting. “A critical part of today’s world is having the

A former parole agent is fulfi lling her dream of opening a doggie daycare and pet hotel. The moment she spotted the building formerly occupied by Tri Fitness, Barbara Mundis knew White Bear Lake was the perfect place. Fixing instead of ditching Above: Volunteer Brandon Neumann works on a toy duck that Tom Lackner brought to the FixIt Clinic at the White Bear Lake Library Saturday, March 23. Neumann, who works in the field of electronic calibration, successfully got the duck to sing and flap its wings again after fixing electrical connections and a broken gear. Some of the other items area residents brought in to be fixed included lamps, a DVD player, television, space heater, espresso maker, computers and clothing. Ramsey County representative Alex Fredberg, the coordinator of the event, said the volunteers have a 70 to 80 percent repair success rate.
