The Going-to-the-Sun Road is a highlight for seasonal visitors. Called “the most beautiful piece of mountain road in the world” for good reason, the road is a national historic landmark. Open in the summer and early fall months (typically late June through mid-October), it can be travelled by personal car, free shuttle, a narrative Red Bus Tour or a Native American Sun Tour. When the alpine sections of The Going-tothe-Sun Road are under snow in the spring and fall, many miles are open to bikers and walkers looking to explore the secrets of the park.
