Harmony Day Concert

Sunday 19 March

We have all the world in our backyard: the rich cultural heritage of Whitehorse weaves a proud and colourful social fabric!

We’re pleased to present you an equally colourful Harmony Day Concert, with an incredible line-up of performers that will make your heart sing and your body move.

Come and enjoy powerful First Nations singer and musician Mitch Tambo on stage, supported by high-energy Super Mande Percussion Group, evocative and soulful Galareh Pour, and the mind-blowing Lion Dancers from Hung Gar Yau Shu.

‘Everyone Belongs’ at our free Harmony Day Concert and we want to see you there, celebrating our community and enjoying live music, workshops and activities, food trucks and dance performance.

Make a seed bomb, paint your part in the migratory-eel mural, watch (and taste!) some cooking demonstrations and witness the beautiful Chinese Women’s Dancing Group. You can also take a tour of Strathdon House itself.

We can’t wait to see you in our shared backyard.

Join a playgroup today

National Playgroup Week is from 23 March to 30 March. This is great time to learn more about playgroup by engaging with the fun and interactive activities these spaces offer.

Playgroups give families and children the opportunity to meet other people going through similar experiences, which can ease the isolation that comes from caring for young children. It’s also a great way to connect with your local community and find valuable health and support services near you.

Play provides children with opportunities to learn, experience, investigate and interact while creating meaning from the world around them. There’s a playgroup for everyone, and everyone is welcome! In Whitehorse, we have playgroups specifically for grandparents, LGBTQIA+ families and a variety of cultural playgrounds.

Think Local Buy Local

In December 2022, artists took to Whitehorse’s shopping precincts and painted their unique designs on participating business windows.

We hope that our community enjoyed these custom designs whilst shopping locally. Did you see the festive windows?

Whether you were a participating business or resident passing by, we’d love to hear from you. Please take the time to provide your feedback at the link below.
