The “Roadrage” collection is a vibrant and bold exploration of urban life, inspired by the chaos and energy of city streets. Each piece blends elements of streetwear with high fashion, showcasing oversized silhouettes, funky prints, and contemporary, quirky visual elements. At its core, “Roadrage” showcases the versatility and innovation of wool, redefining how this natural fibre can be utilised in modern fashion. The idea behind “Roadrage” stems from fashion trends of motoring clothes (also known as dusters) during the early 20th century when cars required a special wardrobe to protect drivers and passengers from the elements (Formichella 2021). Within the collection, wool is utilised to enhance the comfort and performance of the garments. Its natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties make it ideal for creating pieces that are not only stylish but also practical for various weather conditions and to essentially act as “dusters”(Woolmark n.d.). This approach highlights wool’s potential beyond conventional uses, showcasing it as a material that can be both experimental and functional. Drawing inspiration from the tailored, functional attire of early 20th-century motorists, the collection features a structured coat, high collars, and luxurious fabrics integrated with bold typography, graphic prints, and signs from the road. These elements inject a modern, streetwise edge into the vintage-inspired designs, making them relevant and wearable for today’s fashion-forward audience.
