Members registration opens Friday August 22, and general program registration opens Tuesday August 26. Adding convenience and service for our new and returning participants, you can now register online starting at 7:00am! Phone and in-person registration opens at 8:30am.

Because People Matter Grant funding was provided to train and support volunteer cardio gym attendants. Stationed at the Centre for Active Living, these volunteers provide basic introduction to the safe use of the cardio equipment and weights while monitoring and supervising participants.

How can I apply? Applications are available at White Rock Leisure Services (604-541-2199) or visit www.whiterockcity.ca to download the Leisure Access application form.

The program ensures that residents are not restricted from access or participation in a reasonable variety of recreation activities due to financial hardship.

Complete one application per family and return it to the registration desk with proof of residency and proof of household income.

Residents are provided with a mechanism for accessing subsidies which incorporates confidentiality, dignity, privacy and easy access.

Canadian Tire Jump Start Program

Assisting those children ages 4-18 that due to financial hardship would not otherwise be able to participate in a physical activity. Funding up to $300/year per child to participate in one program per submission period. The submission period is defined as: January 15 - June 1 (Winter/Spring) and July 1 - November 15 (Summer/Fall). The application form for the Jump Start Program is available at White Rock Leisure Services to those who qualify for the Leisure Access program.

The White Rock Community Centre has a large, bright art room, where a variety of art classes take place for all ages and abilities. The Community Centre is home to the Art on Display program, a partnership between the City of White Rock and Semiahmoo Arts to showcase artwork by local artists. The White Rock Community Centre also hosts numerous cultural special events, including the International Artist Day Festival and Christmas on the Peninsula.
