Golfers from across the area are invited to participate in the 41st Annual Columbus County Industrial Golf Tournament, Friday, September 18, hosted by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. The Captain’s Choice tournament will begin with registration and lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. The tournament is limited to the first 120 golfers registered. Friday & Saturday, September 25 & 26 BBQ on the Bluff on Riverside Drive in Fair Bluff will feature a barbeque cookoff showcasing the best BBQ cooks in North and South Carolina. Entry into the contest is $150. Weekend events include music and entertainment, cake competitions, chicken bog dinner and, on Saturday, barbecue for sale by the plate or the pound.
