Miss Sara Rebecca Page and Jeffery Stuart Goff were united in marriage on Dec. 13, 2014 in a 2 p.m. ceremony at Whiteville United Methodist Church. The bride is the daughter of John Robert and Cynthia Bullock Page of Whiteville and the granddaughter of Margie Page of Aynor, S. C., the late Robert Page, Sylvia Bullock of Chadbourn and the late James Edwin Bullock. She is a graduate of South Columbus High School and earned a B.S. in business administration from Wingate University. She was employed as staff accountant with Republic Services of Wilmington and will be employed as assistant controller for Republic Services in
The groom is the son of Chris and Janet Goff of Sandy, Utah. His grandparents are the late Leroy and Ruth Goff and the late Fred and Eileen Stamm. He is a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Midvale, Utah and the University of Utah at Salt Lake City with a B.S. degree in history. He is a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. The Rev. Paul Stallsworth officiated the double ring ceremony. Organist was Mrs. Nan Leggett of Whiteville. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a soft white strapless all over beaded ball gown with a chapel train featuring a tiered organza inset. She wore her mother’s pearls and diamond bracelet and carried a bouquet of pink roses, purple mini calla lilies and white hydrangeas. Katie Gore of Raleigh, best friend of bride since kindergarten, was maid of honor. Julia Page of Whiteville, niece of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. Bridesmaids were Mary Beth Smith of Myrtle Beach, S. C., Kristina Sager of Wilmington, Danielle Tonkery of Fort Mill, S.C., and Dana Hicks of Murray, Utah, sister of the groom. They wore short dresses of regency purple in the style of their choice. They carried bouquets of white and purple roses with red coffee beans. Raegan Hicks of Murray, Utah, niece of the groom, was miniature bride. Adam Goff of Eagle Mountain, Utah, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Edward Hamer, Beaufort, N. C.; Erin Bevaqua, Washington, D. C.; Jack McAndrew, Beau-
fort, N.C. and Jak Kramer, Swansboro. The groom and groomsmen were in Marine Corps dress uniforms. Usher was Robert Page II of Nashville, Tenn., brother of the bride. The bride’s mother wore a knee length wine dress and carried the bible from her wedding with a purple calla lily. The groom’s mother wore a navy blue street length dress. She carried a nosegay of red roses. The couple exited the church with the groomsmen performing the Arch of Swords ceremony. Before passing under each pair of swords, the swords were lowered and the groom gave the bride a kiss to be allowed to pass. At the end, the bride was swatted with a sword to be welcomed to the Marine Corps. Mrs. Jan Walters Hardee of Tabor City directed the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Chip Gore of Whiteville attended the register. The bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall. The bride and groom cut the first slice of cake with the groom’s sword. Jan Hardee cut and sliced the three-tier wedding cake, which sat atop a round table with a lace tablecloth belonging to the bride’s maternal grandmother. A damask tablecloth belonging to the bride’s greatgrandmother was used on the gift table. Sandra Pridgen of Lake Waccamaw served punch, iced tea and coffee. Robert Barrett of Chadbourn catered the reception. William Williamson of Olde Towne Florist provided floral arrangements. White Christmas trees and flocked magnolia adorned the fireplace. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Southern Kitchen Restaurant in Whiteville. Miss Katie Gore hosted a girls week-end and lingerie shower at The Hilton in Wilmington. A bridesmaids luncheon at The Madison House in Whiteville was given by Brenda Bullock, aunt of the bride.
