Mark “Rock” Gerretson 1959 – 2005 Mark, an avid fisherman and chef extraordinaire, was born on 15 September 1959. He was a graduate of Atlantic High School in Delray Beach. He is survived by his Mother, Patricia, his brother Jim, sister, Deena, his seven nieces and nephews, Megan and Brittany Gerretson, J.M., Kaycee, Eadie, R.D., and E.N. Chapman, his Aunt and Uncle, Barbara and Jerry Kern and their children, as well as countless friends and loved ones, and Elvis.

Mark was a tireless supporter of the Delray Beach community. He was the founder and chairman of the annual fishing tournament which has supported the Delray Police Holiday Toy Drive. He was a past Delray Jaycee President, and a Co-Chairman of the Delray Affair Atlantic Plaza committee. He supported the Christmas Parade, the Delray Jaycee Haunted House, Proud Elks Member, and many other worthy charitable causes.

FISHING RULES You must comply with all Florida State laws, size and bag limits. IGFA Rules Apply.

IGFA ANGLING RULES Monofilament, multifilament, and core multifilament lines may be used.

Wire lines are prohibited.

The use of a leader is not required. If one is used, it must meet the specifications listed in the IGFA Rules.

Rods must comply with sporting ethics and customs. Considerable latitude is allowed in the choice of a rod, but rods giving the angler an unfair advantage will be disqualified. The rule is intended to eliminate the use of unconventional rods.

The rod tip must be a minimum of 40 inches in length. The rod butt can not exceed 27 inches in length. These measurements must be made from a point directly beneath the center of the reel. A curved butt is measured in a straight line.

Reels must comply with sporting ethics and customs.

Power driven reels of any kind are prohibited. This includes motor, hydraulic, or electrical driven reels, and any device which gives the angler an unfair advantage.

Ratchet handle reels are prohibited.

For live or dead bait fishing no more than two single hooks may be used. Both must be firmly imbedded in or securely attached to the bait. The eyes of the hooks must be no less than a hook’s length apart and no more than 18 inches apart. The only exception is that the point of one hook may be passed through the eye of the other hook.

The use of dangling or swinging hook is prohibited. Double or treble hooks are prohibited.

Handling or using a handline or rope attached in any manner to the angler’s line or leader for the purpose of holding or lifting the fish will disqualify the catch.

Shooting, harpooning, or lancing any fish (including sharks or halibuts) at any stage of the catch will disqualify the catch.

Outriggers, downriggers, spreader bars and kites are permitted to be used provided that the actual fishing line is attached to the snap or other release device, either directly or with some other material. The leader or double line may not be connected to the release mechanism either directly or with the use of a connecting device. Spreader bars are also acceptable when used strictly as a teaser.
