I joined the founding effort to support new immigrant populations to the Eastern Shore which has birthed a new Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center (see www.chesmrc.org). In my day job, the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy is raising funds to move their headquarters from a rural waterfront farm into a currently dilapidated former sewing factory in a challenged town center neighborhood. The new “Eastern Shore Conservation Center� will bring at least six conservation organizations together into a LEED certified adaptive reuse of the building bringing jobs and vitality to a neighborhood in need (see www.eslc.org).
