Senior Program Manager Center for Whole Communities is a vibrant and thriving organization bridging environmental and social change movements, efforts, and networks. Our theory of change is that the economic and social fragmentation that exists in America plays out directly in organizations and movements for change, keeping them isolated and competitive, which often thwarts their ability to creatively and holistically confront the complex issues facing our nation and the earth. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Senior Program Manager, overseeing our educational workshops and retreats and managing our rapidly growing advanced leadership program of custom-designed, fee-based programs for organizations and alumni. The senior program manager will work closely with the Co-Directors, Board, program staff and alumni to provide the leadership, planning and implementation necessary to deliver the highest quality educational programs in service of our mission. This position is hands-on, creative and highly gratifying. Our staff is dedicated and fast-moving so ideal candidates will be entrepreneurial, highly relational, organized and personally committed to our mission. Responsibilities include extensive program development, management, andevaluation; relationship management with clients, faculty and alumni; and program communications via online and print media. Program Management: • • • • • • • • • •
Oversee Whole Thinking Program, including fellowship nominations and selection process and program evaluation. Oversee development and implementation of Mission Retreats for client organizations Oversee Advanced Leadership Program, delivering a suite of educational workshops and trainings to meet the needs of alumni and their communities Manage faculty, including scheduling faculty placements at retreats, organizing annual faculty retreat, writing contracts and managing the co-creation of curricula Oversee evaluation of all educational programs, through evaluations, surveys, and in-person interviews Manage the process for development of curriculum content and materials in partnership with codirectors and dean of faculty Work closely with co-directors, dean of faculty and core faculty to develop retreat and workshop curricula Contribute quarterly to e-newsletter for alumni and the broader whole communities network and regularly contribute to other organizational communications Write and edit program narratives for grant applications and reports, and recruit new funding sources, in partnership with the development director Supervise program associate in helping with all of the above
Relationship Management: • • •
Maintain the highest level of professional client relationships with those who contract with CWC to deliver customized retreats, workshops and consulting, as well as build new client relationships. Maintain regular contact and strong relationships with alumni through the organizing of regular gatherings, workshops and other forums in service to their needs. Maintain consistent channels of communication with faculty to ensure shared learning, reciprocal mentorship and a high level of positive relations between organization and faculty.
Ideal Experience The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications: • Demonstrated involvement and commitment to the mission and theory of change of Whole Communities • Expertise in program development and evaluation • Experience leading a team • Experience managing client relations • Professional experience working with diverse populations, and personal analysis of race, class, power and privilege • Expertise in some or all: social justice, social entrepreneurship, community development, organizing, facilitation, and/or communications, or public health or community restoration. • Strong communication skills: ability to write and speak clearly and effectively to a wide variety of audiences • Strong organizational skills and experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented organizations Personal Characteristics • • • • • • • •
