WIBAX stengthens its Swedish distribution chain

WIBAX HAS INVESTED in a terminal in Gävle, with the goal of continuing to strengthen our distribution chain. "By investing in terminals of our own, we ensure that we are close to our customers, thus minimising the need for tanker truck transportation to the greatest possible extent.
Wibax has a total of 19 terminals in strategic locations throughout Sweden, Finland and Estonia. All of the terminals are of a very high standard, meeting high security requirements. The new terminal in Gävle is also in good condition, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. It lies adjacent to the port and has the capacity to handle transports by ship, rail and tanker truck. The Gävle terminal has a 6,000 m3 cistern. Wibax' terminals currently have a total capacity of approximately 800,000 m3 of liquid products.
"For Wibax, it is incredibly important to make serious, long-term investments that allow us to operate in close proximity to our customers, so that we can provide efficient logistics, according to sound and responsible principles", explains Magnus Sundström, Managing Director WIBAX Logistics.

FAIR TRANSPORT
The Swedish Association of Road Transport Companies visited Wibax to give us a poster certifying our involvement in Fair Transport. Fair Transport is an initiative to ensure good working conditions for those who drive, to ensure compliance with laws and regulations for traffic safety, and to continously improve the energy efficiency of our transports. By presenting the results of our sustainability efforts, we can show that sustainable logistics also require sustainable business on the whole.
FAIR TRANSPORT FACTS
Fair Transport is a way for road transport companies to show- case sustainability efforts with regard to climate and the environment, traffic safety and social responsibility. Sustainability data is collected across these fields, summarised and made available to the public. Fair Transport is a tool for sustainable business, and an effective channel for purchasers of logistics services to find information about hauliers and their sustainability work.
INCREASED NET LOAD IN 2020
OUR VEHICLE FLEET WAS EXPANDED with two new 74 ton trucks, and eight more were renovated for an increased net load, resulting in a combined increase of about 40 tons of loading capacity. Wibax now has a tanker fleet with approximately 50 vechicles, delivering liquid chemicals and bio oils to customers, primarily in the paper and pulp industries, but also to other industries. Pictured here is the latest addition to the fleet, a tanker with a total weight of 74 tons, based in Piteå.

WIBAX met with students at LTU

INNOVATION PITE
- a smarter community!
Wibax attended LARV, the Luleå University of Technology career expo, on January 22, 2020. The expo is organised by the Teknologkåren student union at Luleå University of Technology, and for LTU students, it serves as an excellent opportunity to network with relevant companies and to give them a good idea of the opportunities they will have after graduation. Wibax attended to meet with students and talk to them about working or doing internships at Wibax. With our presence, we hope to communicate that Wibax is an interesting, growing company, and a potential future employer too.
Wibax board member Lars-Eric Aaro, Wibax group CEO Jonas Wiklund, and HR Manager Annica Pettersson, opened Innovation Pite's workshop series "A Smarter Community", on September 16, 2020.
Lars-Eric Aaro did a SWOT analysis of Piteå's strengths and weaknesses, and Wibax shared their amazing journey, talking about their experience with skills supply, and the successful initiative Wibax Academy, where a trainee programme geared towards immigrants was established in collaboration with Piteå Council and the Swedish Public Employment Agency. About 35 business executives, decision makers and influential stakeholders gathered for constructive conversation on the present and the future.
The initative "A Smarter Community" is run by Innovation Pite, building on the focus areas of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences, as a collaboration between them and a number of interesting companies in various fields, in Piteå. The idea is to provide access to knowledge, promote good examples on local and national levels, and to act as a think tank and work actively with important future questions for local enterprise in Piteå.
