DANIEL HEGE Music Director & Conductor
2018-2019 SEASON WICHITASYMPHONY.ORG
BETTER TOGETHER Welcome to the 75th Anniversary Season of the Wichita Symphony! Words cannot describe how honored I am to lead this extremely talented group of musicians and world-class guest artists joining us in the coming year. For me, the greatest joy continues to be sharing in the magic of live symphonic music with our audience. Music is available to us at all times, but when you come into the Concert Hall to hear Beethoven, Debussy, or Rachmaninoff with a live orchestra, something amazing happens - you become part of the music. Our notes mix with your thoughts, your memories, and in turn they shape the meaning of what we play. The orchestra and the audience work together to create a moment that will never happen again. And, as is true with most things in life, these moments are most special when they are shared. Nothing makes us perform with more intensity and passion than sharing this experience with our audience. Live music shared with loved ones enriches life unlike any other art form. Simply put, we are better together. Musically Yours,
Daniel Hege Music Director & Conductor
