Wells qualifies as England's smallest, and Somerset's only city because of its amazing 12th century Cathedral. This is the first time Stonehenge has had a proper place to tell its story, and visitors will be able to find out much more about this complex monument, distinguishing facts from theories. A 360-degree virtual, immersive experience will let visitors 'stand in the stones' before they enter a gallery featuring various displays and nearly 300 prehistoric artefacts. 211 steel columns support the gently undulating canopy, under which sit two "pods" which house the exhibition, education, café, and retail space. Apart from modern facilities, visitors can expect a stunning exhibition that will fascinate even those who have seen the Stones before. A section of the A344 has now been seeded over so a timed ticket visitor shuttle will transport you to the Stones where you can enjoy an informative audio guide. Price includes entrance. In the Summer months the magnificent London residence of Her Majesty The Queen is opened to the public. The term ‘State Rooms’ is applied to those rooms that were designed and built as the public rooms of the Palace, in which monarchs receive, reward and entertain their subjects and visiting dignitaries. Today the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are used extensively by The Queen and members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. The State Rooms are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Van Dyck and Canaletto, sculpture by Canova, exquisite pieces of Sèvres porcelain, and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world. We shall have a short period of free time before entrance to the Palace and suggest you bring a packed lunch as catering is limited in the area. The Garden Café which is located on the Western Terrace and overlooks the magnificent lawns, offers a selection of refreshments as you leave the Palace.

Friday 5th Horse Drawn Canal Boat & Marlborough Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places, Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that ‘film location’ quality and is a great spot to stroll around and find somewhere nice for lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 hour cruise along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying passengers and is powered solely by the towing action of the horse making for a tranquil journey. Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and confectionary. A lovely day out. Gifted to the Society in 1903, Wisley has evolved over time into a world-class garden and is a must-see for the avid gardener at any time of year. The fine 18th-century house has a renowned historical fashion collection, but it is the glorious landscaped garden surrounded by parkland which makes this property a gem. Beautiful all year round, the garden was created by John Veitch - with rhododendrons, magnolias and rare trees surrounded by rolling Devon countryside. After spending time at The Swannery we travel to the nearby Sup Tropical Gardens, described by Alan Titchmarsh as “One of the finest gardens I have ever visited”. Saturday 13th Duxford Air Show 2014 IWM Duxford is set within the spacious grounds of the famous former First and Second World War airfield in Cambridgeshire. Your entrance ticket includes entrance to the superb museum, so you can wander under and around some of the most iconic aircraft in the world and get hands-on with the award-winning interactive exhibitions. IWM Duxford is home to an impressive collection of over two hundred aircraft as well as tanks, military vehicles and boats. Saturday 13th Houses of Parliament Audio Tour Fascinating day out as we travel to Westminster. We have included an audio tour which includes the Commons and Lords Chambers, the Queen's Robing Room, the Royal Gallery and Westminster Hall. The tour takes approximately 75 minutes with visitor assistants along the route to help if required. Most of the buildings seen on the tour were built in the mid 19th Century following a devastating fire, but the route also incorporates some of the earlier buildings, such as Westminster Hall.
