Work experience took on a floral theme for student photographers’ assignment at the Wigan in Bloom awards. Student chefs joined staff at Haydock Racecourse for work experience, catering for up to 18,000 spectators.

YOUNG ARTISTS DRAW INSPIRATION FROM ENDANGERED SPECIES

Art & Design students reached the final of the Explorers Against Extinction Sketch for Survival exhibition. The global art initiative in aid of conservation resulted in student work exhibited at the gallery@oxo in Southbank, London. Students celebrated Culture Day, when those of different nationalities and backgrounds came together to share food, customs and fashions from across the globe. The event was initiated and organised by the College’s Student Council with Level 3 Travel & Tourism student Jomana Aref taking the lead.

Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, visited the College to speak to future public sector professionals. “I didn’t believe at your age that I

could have achieved what I have. You can often achieve more than you think if you keep a sense of belief and focus.”
