Leopard Shazam and over 100 rescued wild cats are waking up, waiting for their morning greeting from the caretakers as they do rounds to ensure every cat is happy and healthy. Each cat eagerly awaits their morning meal where roughly 200 lbs of wholesome meat is prepared to start their day.

Cats like Nigel the caracal are positively rewarded for taking their morning insulin injection and other medications. Over 13 medications and supplements are prepared each day. The small cats at Hybrid Haven are snuggled up in comfy beds in their heated bungalows. Hilo and a few head outdoors to their yard to play on their rocks, trees and perches.

Ekaterina the tigress visits the on-site veterinary clinic to have a root canal performed on a broken tooth. Like nearly all the wild cats at the Sanctuary, Ekaterina was a privately-owned wild cat who sadly was declawed on all four paws. At the Sanctuary, she receives much needed treatments and preventative care to stay healthy.

Lionesses Shanti Deva and Asha come indoors for feeding time. While all cats are locked in for feeding, their yards are detail cleaned and enrichment is placed in their outdoor freeroaming habitats. Fun surprises await when they return outdoors to their habitat.

The office is also bustling as staff and volunteers help spread the message of our ‘No More Wild Pets’ campaign to decrease the number of animals needing sanctuary. Homer and the other office cats supervise as rescue calls come in.

Bobcat Buddy moves into his new free-roaming habitat in Feline Meadows. Each cat is allowed to live wild at heart in a natural setting with room to roam. Your help gives them large areas to run, climb, explore and play.

It’s playtime for cats at the Sanctuary. Nigel checks out a new box while Mesa enjoys a painting session with non-toxic vegetable paint as part of our formal enrichment program. Toys, scents, fire hose hammocks and perches provide a stimulating environment for the cats to enjoy daily. Carlo plays with his ball, while Bella scent rubs her new toy.

For you, nighttime is quiet time. Not so at The Wildcat Sanctuary! At dusk, Zeus begins a roaring session down at Roar Ridge. Titan the tiger can be heard splashing in his pool, while cougar Raja can be seen overlooking the Sanctuary from atop his cave. By making a donation today, you can help double the dreams for wildcats.

q The cats are given so many ways to stay busy all year round. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, you’ll always find the cats having a great time.
