This is a quality standard, which ensures that from product design, to testing, to traceability, our systems are absolutely rigorous. This system of work is regularly inspected and tested by independent auditors.

These inspections make sure what we claim is true, is!

So when we say we proof load 100% of incoming biners we really do it. When we say we 100% inspect every harness and sling that passes through our hands, we really do it.

Above all this, they make sure that the way we work places safety and quality at the core of everything we do. And this applies whether we make the product in our Peak District factory, or in one of our partners’ plants, either in the UK or abroad.

The awesome new Alpine Shield takes an innovative and stylish approach to creating the ultimate in adaptability and the perfect 'year round' helmet.

360 Helmet

Durable, stylish and super safe the 360 is an exceptional polycarbonate helmet built with style and the safety credentials to blow the opposition away.

This modular design adopts a ‘two-in-one’ approach, combining a lightweight, in-mould EPS/Polycarbonate helmet with an exclusive 'Alpine Shield' cover that can be quickly attached to give enhanced protection.

Created to act as a cross-season all rounder the 360 is a reliable and fully featured model that will be at home on first forays out to longer expeditions away.

Built with safety in mind the 360’s testing pedigree is its strength. Optimal shaping, optimal material use and top impact resistance mean great test results, including a best in class side impact result.

This is due to Wild Country’s decision to use more EPS than other helmets and to extend the EPS further down the sides and back of the lid. This makes impacts from a swinging fall safer, adding more plusses to an already secure design.

Worn uncovered, this helmet is perfect for all round cragging; supremely light and with an optimal fit via quick-click volume adjustment, soft EVA pads and a super secure, quick release chin strap.

Worn covered, by adding the bonus Alpine Shield shell - providing 30% extra stone and icefall protection - it goes further than any other helmet of its type can go. Meaning this fully featured model becomes a true winter lid and one of the lightest choices around.

However, this strength is not a sacrifice to weight or fit and the 360 remains a lightweight choice.

For 2009 the Wild Country boffins have been shaving the dies further to create an even more amazing range.

So now there’s not only a new hyperlight 27 gram biner, the Astro, as well as a new 33gram full size biner the Nitro but to top it all we can reveal the worlds lightest screwgate biner the 40 gram Neon Screwgate.

Achieved using a combination of the proven I beam technology and a little lateral thinking, the Neon Screwgate gives safety a boost allowing more screwgates to be carried without a weight penalty.

The advantage of folding means no centre seam to worry about in flight and with the Big Air it means great ground coverage too. The foam is in a 20/70 mix allowing the Big Air to fold well and still give a firm and re-assuring feel on impact. Cleverly designed, it also works ‘inside out’ meaning that the muddy side of the pad isn’t on the back while walking out and additionally the DWR treated materials resist water uptake keeping the pad (and feet) dryer longer.

SRC – SINGLE ROPE CONTROLLER

With an easy, organic shape and intuitive feel the VC Pro 2 has been a success since its launch and is recognised as one of the leaders on thin ropes. And it has two great attributes to make it so: Firstly it has a smooth finish for fatter cords with a flattened out bottom, which keeps the biner a bit further away and decreases grab. Secondly to give even more bite on ever-decreasing diameter skinny ropes, the V slots are deep, accepting even the thinnest ropes to give a firmer grip.

The Single Rope Controller is Wild Country’s super safe belay device which works like an ‘auto-lock’ but with a very important difference – it has a much more dynamic action leading to a lower impact force and a much softer fall.

For sale singly and also supplied with all our quickdraws the 10mm and 12mm Dyneema Express slings are sewn through and sport a bonus feature the ‘Tadpole’.

The ‘Tadpole’ is a neat rubber ring sewn into the sling at the bottom, or rope-clipping end, that grips the biner, helping to keep it orientated correctly at all times. Conversely on these ‘dogbone’ slings the top end of the ‘draw remains loose so the biner there can be rotated for safety.

Slim light and easy to carry the 16mm Nylon slings are a great choice for those who want confidence but without as much weight as before. 16mm has a solidity and long term reliability second to none, but its size is easier to use yet still gives a great visual re-assurance of their strength.

10mm DYNEEMA The amazingly light and brilliantly flexible 10mm Dyneema slings are now our best selling width – and provide the ‘cutting edge’ to any rack where weight is at premium. Thus the new generation of Infinity Ropes starts here, with the Sprint 9.2’s superb combination of weight, handling, feel and flexibility allowing an even more confident approach on your hardest pitches. An already refined outer has been trimmed down further for this cord, making it smooth to pay out and great to clip with. These lighter sheath yarns give a finer feel yet still retaining high degree of durability in this 9.2mm rope. At the same time the re-worked ‘balanced core’ has a lower impact force meaning that if you do take that tumble it won’t feel as bad.

Lower denier yarns braided on machines with higher carrier count result in a rope that is smoother to handle, more flexible in use, and consequently transmits a lower impact force making a more comfortable fall. Tailored for the expert, and much lighter per metre than the Enduro series their durability holds up well to give ultimate confidence in extreme situations. Sprint ropes are all dry coated.

After the success of our dry treated Super-Enduro we realised there were still a lot of people who wanted this diameter of rope but didn’t necessarily need the water repellency. The new Enduro 10.5 still provides a high-spec rope but for those not seeking such extremes in their climbing it provides better value. Designed to be very hardwearing the Enduro fits the bill for ‘day-cragging’ and indoor use perfectly and with an new 30m length for smaller venues offers extra choice and value.

BCC – BALANCED CORE CONCEPT Choosing the right core construction makes a huge amount of difference to rope behaviour. Our yarns are twisted and heat treated in house and then selected to provide a core strand construction specific to each rope diameter. Perfecting this ‘balance’ for all our styles has been testing, but the effect is obvious as we deliver a solid, perfectly round rope which feels and handle great from day one.

DCC – DURA-CORE CONSTRUCTION A “marine finish” lubricant is applied to the core which changes the way it interacts with the sheath, increasing the dynamic properties of the finished rope as well as significantly aiding longevity.

SD – SUPER DRY TREATMENT A wet rope may hold less than 50% of the falls held when dry.

Complete immersion of the rope in the hydrophilic, silicone based solution and subsequent heat setting ensures the best possible protection against water absorption. Super dry treatment is an important contributor to rope safety and performance, therefore all Infinity Ropes are offered with the choice of a Super Dry treatment.

Welcome to the new generation of Super 10’s: bigger, with a more defined shape and a wider gate opening for easy clipping, as well as being better value, these new Cloggies are difficult to turn down.

The Centre has proved extremely popular over the last few years as a basic no-frills introduction to a ‘proper’ tie-in climbing harness. As it’s name suggests, it is ideal as a teaching or group harness especially where the emphasis is on best practice and correct climbing tie-in procedure. There are now two versions of this popular model being offered. The original with ‘threadback’ buckles and a new model with Clog’s new ‘ziplock’ style buckles which are always threaded and are simply pulled to tighten.

Re-worked in 2006 the Super 10 Screw offers a bigger unit for the same price making it a great buy. The bestselling Midi Screw is made from 12mm bar and gives a superb value option at an in between size. Perfect as a belay biner alongside the Clog Flyer or other devices. Finally there’s the classic Clog 12mm HMS, a round bar biner perfect for all mountain situations.’

Like the Centre the Classic is designed as a budget introductory harness with 44mm webbing throughout and large threadback buckles. An ‘over-the-top’ clip in point means this is a great group or centre product for quick changeovers using a screwgate while its ‘nappy’ style means it is adaptable as a winter walking/mountaineering product. These procedures are an integral part of our Quality Assurance System. From the data obtained from destruction testing, the average (or mean) and sample standard deviation (which is a measure of variance based upon the results obtained) is calculated. 3õ is three times the sample standard deviation.

When 3õ is deducted from the mean result obtained, we can predict the spread of results which would be obtained if we were to destroy the entire batch (which is why we sample only!). We monitor this data closely from batch to batch to ensure that the rated strength (as marked on the product) is always less than the mean minus three times the sample standard deviation. This ensures that the minimum breaking strength for all products is consistently higher than the rated strength as marked on the product.

SETS – BELAY DEVICES PRODUCT

The Three Sigma Rating system is a method of Statistical Quality Control (SQC) which we use to describe, analyse, and control the rated strengths of our products. For each batch produced, a statistically representative sample is taken and tested to destruction in accordance with the relevant European Standard for that product and/or our own approved internal Quality Assurance Procedures.

CE CERTIFICATION
