REMEMBERING “TWO MILE LANDING” Two Mile has been around a long time . . . long before I graduated from high school (1962). We would race our cars on the stretch between the Crest and the entrance to Two Mile Landing, which is how it got it’s name . . . a straight 2 mile stretch of road that you could drag race on. It was out of the Crest’s jurisdiction and two far away from Lower Township. Our sign shop (Wildwood Sign and Design) did the “For Sale” sign that went up on Saturday. A passing of the guard. I remember when Jim Salasin bought the restaurant from Charlie Sandman (no clue who had it before Charlie). Jim did a great job of running Two Mile . . . good place to work, good place to take your boat. Always a good time. A lot of memories for a lot of people. Here’s hoping the new owners run the place as well as Jim.

SOME QUESTIONS THAT HAUNT ME... • What disease did cured ham actually have? • Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV? • If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from? • Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? • How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light ﬁxtures? • Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your ﬁrst try? • How come you never hear father-in-law jokes? • Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs.

JUST FOR THE PUN OF IT: • I was going to look for my missing watch, but I couldn’t ﬁnd the time. • To write with a broken pencil is pointless. • Need an ark to save two of every animal? I noah guy. • A new type of broom came out. It is sweeping the country. • I used to have a fear of hurdles, but I got over it. • It’s raining cats and dogs. Well, as long as it doesn’t reindeer. • The dead batteries were given out free of charge. • Pencils could be made with erasers at both ends, but what would be the point? • What’s the deﬁnition of a will? (It’s a dead giveaway.) • I’m reading a book about anti-gravity. It’s impossible to put down. • A hole has been found in the fence at a nudist camp. The police are looking into it.

A guy walks into a bar and asks for three beers. The bartender puts them up and then watches the guy go through a peculiar ritual. “Happy Birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday” Each time he says the word he drinks the beer. Then he pays and walks out. One year later he enters the bar again and orders the same thing. The bartender watches him go through the same ritual. Curious, he asks the bloke why. “Well” the guy says, “I have a friend in Ireland and a friend in Australia. We have our birthdays on the same day. We can’t be together so we have agreed that on this day we will each go into our local pub and have a round of drinks for each other. We have been doing this for 55 years since we were 18.” The next year the man comes in and asks the bartender for two beers.
